Ricardo "Strings" Ramos was born on February 27, 1981, bred in the Washington Heights section of New York City and by the age of 5, played the guitar. In Junior High School "Strings", as he is most referred to by his peers in the music industry, had already begun working the local club scene as a bassist for various Latin bands. Ricardo began his career as a musician playing at large venues with popular artists like Toni Braxton (Blackground), KC & JOJO of Jodeci fame, and Shakira (Sony). He had accomplished all of this by the age of 16, while still attending Fiorello La Guardia High School (also known as High School of Music & Art). Upon graduating at age 18, Ricardo joined a band called Blusyde, a well-known local R&B band in the New York City area. With Blusyde, Ricardo completed his first European tour opening for a hip-hop group called The Spooks. At age 20, he graduated from I.A.R. (The Institute of Audio Research) where he'd studied sound engineering. This newly acquired background led him to work with many high profile artists such as Gospel artists; Fred Hammond and Marvin Sapp. Ricardo also performed with accomplished and decorated Latin artists like Jerry Rivera, Proyecto Uno, Milly Quezada, Grammy Award winner Franco De Vita (Sony), Luisito Quintero (Vega Records). Ricardo is currently the musical director for Grammy Award winner Obie Bermudez and most recently, new Latin pop group Taxi Amarillo.
Other performances where Ricardo has received a great deal of exposure include his appearances on tours with R&B artists Wycleff Jean, Tamia and Lyfe Jennings (Sony). To continue the tally, his most current work with Emily King (J Records), super producer Little Louie Vega (Vega Records), Amadeus (Platinum Boy/ New Heights) and Grammy award winner producer Steven "Supe" White (Suped Up Entertainment) in addition to all the aforementioned collaborations, has given Ricardo experience in almost every musical genre.
