The Rhythm Room All-Stars were founded by harmonica player, bandleader, and club owner Bob Corritore in 1991, as he opened his Phoenix blues and roots concert club called The Rhythm Room. This band's current lineup includes Chris James on guitar and vocals, Patrick Rynn on bass, Brian Fahey on drums, and Bob Corritore on harmonica. The Rhythm Room All Stars' specialty is a vintage Chicago Blues sound. This group not only puts on its own house-rockin' show, but also serves as a backing unit for guest artists, and has supported Henry Gray, Jimmy Rogers, Sam Lay, Roy Gaines, Billy Boy Arnold, Snooky Pryor, Luther Tucker, Bo Diddley, Louisiana Red, Chief Schabuttie Gilliame, Finis Tasby, Johnny Dyer, Dave Riley, Chico Chism, Big Pete Pearson, Pinetop Perkins, Lil' Ed, Bob Margolin, Kid Ramos, Nappy Brown, and many others. Over the years, The Rhythm Room All-Stars have become an international festival attraction, appearing at such high-profile events as the Lucerne Blues Festival, Marco Fiume Blues Passions Festival in Italy, the Bay-Car Blues Festival in France, the Lionel Hampton Jazz Club at Hotel Le Meridien in Paris, as well as its numerous openings for B.B. King. The Rhythm Room All-Stars sound is showcased on the CD releases by Bob Corritore, Tomcat Courtney, Henry Gray, Sam Lay, Big Pete Pearson, and Louisiana Red. The Various Artists Collection House Rockin’ And Blues Shoutin’ contains a number of tracks that feature The Rhythm Room All-Stars; this release was nominated for a 2008 Blues Music Award. Big Pete Pearson’s I’m Here Baby was nominated for two Independent Music Awards and was number one in France in the January 2007 Power Blues Charts. Bob Corritore- In addition to being a world-class blues harmonica player, Bob is the organizer and business manager of the band. A Chicago native, he was introduced to the blues at an early age, and took up harmonica at age 13 after being inspired by Little Walter's harmonica on Muddy Waters records. Bob has worked and recorded with some of the biggest names in the blues, such as Jimmy Rogers, Pinetop Perkins, Bo Diddley, Louisiana Red, Henry Gray, Sam Lay, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith, and many others. Bob's All-Star Blues Sessions 1999 release on HighTone Records firmly established him as a blues force to be reckoned with. Bob is a Grammy nominated record producer, and in 2007, he received a KBA award from the Blues Foundation for his long running blues radio show.
Chris James - Guitarist Chris James is the band's musical director, and opens up each set with his great vocals, stompin' guitar, and his rowdy blues repertoire. A traditionalist in every sense of the word, Chris has been a professional musician since age 13, when he worked in the band of Tomcat Courtney. He, along with bassist Patrick Rynn, (an inseparable musical team) has traveled the world with Sam Lay and Jody Williams. Chris and Patrick have recorded with Sam Lay, Dennis Binder, Jody Williams, Billy Boy Arnold, and Rob Stone. Chris James's first solo record, "Stop And Think About It" On Chicago's Earwig Music Label, was released on June 10, 2008.
Patrick Rynn - Bassist Patrick Rynn, as stated above, is a well-traveled veteran on the blues circuit. In addition to laying down the bottom in the band, we all look to Patrick for his uplifting showmanship. The late Dave Myers (of Little Walter fame) thought so much of Patrick that he willed his famous bass to him.
Brian Fahey- Drummer Brian Fahey is most famous for his long stint with the Paladins. Brian has also toured with Charlie Musselwhite and Smokey Wilson, as well as being William Clarke's last drummer. He is the drummer on Lynwood Slim's breakthrough CD, Lost In America. An excellent all-around drummer, Brian brings a special touch to his blues drumming in the Rhythm Room All-Stars.
