Heads lift up and ears tune in whenever Brooklyn emcee Rasheen “R.H. Bless” Hill serenades a microphone with his tales of graphic street reality, introspective consciousness and witty lyricism. Bless is a talented artist whose multi-faceted approach to hip hop music is positioning him among the game’s top independent artists as well as entrepreneurs.

Nothing though was comparable to Bless’ ’09 grind wherein he released several mixtape and street albums including Bring That Beat Back Vol. 1, Unsignable, Disturbing the Streets and Power.Passion.Love. His Internet presence has been vast, often appearing on the most influential hip hop blogs and sites.

Perhaps the only thing more impressive than ’09 has been the pace Bless has set for Block Exchange in ’10. Already Bless has released label mate Doss Spittoon’s mixtape Under the City Lights as well as Block Exchange’s compilation street EP The Hierarchy with several more projects in the works before year’s end.

Born and raised in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, the emcee grew up listening to legends like Rakim, Big Daddy Kane and Kool G Rap – all of whom would later influence Bless’ rap style. From Rakim he learned how to be authoritative with his lyrics, while he picked up Kane’s style and grace and G Rap’s street appeal.

As the founder and CEO of Block Exchange Entertainment Bless is not only a recording artist but is also a producer and video director. He has shot many videos for up-and-coming artists such as Push Montana, Curtains and St. Laz to name a few. Bless’ multitude of talents and abilities has helped bring forth his movement.

In addition to directing videos he produces the hip hop DVD magazine B.L.O.C.K. Report, which he established in 2007. Unlike cliché DVDs that focus on negative aspects of the culture, the DVD’s emphasis is on the business, lifestyle, objectives, culture and keys to success in hip hop. Bless has successfully created a medium to support emerging underground artists.

“My mind is like a diamond: multi-faceted, many sides, each side necessary to make that diamond a unique one even with the flaws its still a diamond. That’s what I show you with my words,” Bless says.

Bless has laid the groundwork and foundation for a solid standing in the music business and has aligned himself with some great talent. Speaking as the heart and soul of the streets, Bless’ music and movement is set in motion with a relentless passion and heartfelt realism that promises to manifest his struggles into successes.
