Early 2003 saw the formation of revolver as it stands today. The band exists in the form of two brothers, a duo of cousins and a best friend. Newest addition on the drums, Greg, joined early 2006. All with similar musical tastes and dreams of grandeur, revolver has managed to push on through to create an electric live act and a very fine debut rock and roll record. First impressions of the band could lead you to believe they grew up in the southern states of the USA, got sent to boarding school in Britain in the early sixties, took a year off to travel the world in 73 and ended up in rehab in small town mid eighties New Zealand . Unashamed of their influences and comparisons revolver straddles musical genres to provide a sound which can sometimes sound familiar and other times sound completely unique. It’s this strange brew which makes revolver the band that it is.

With the ever changing climate of today’s music industry the band decided two years ago to go it alone. Independent. No major record companies have been approached, no phone calls have been returned. To some this may seem a bit naïve but to the band they couldn’t see it happening any other way. Sometimes the hardest things need to be done alone. With the support of friends, family and fans Parlour Games is here.

The album is a representation of two years of hard toil, ups and downs, forward steps and a whole lot of fun. Recorded with the aid of one of NZ’s best producer/engineers, Chris Van de Geer, the album sounds essentially revolver.

An album as varied as the environs it was captured in; a vacant car park, an old cinema, a farm house North of Auckland, a nice quiet suburban villa, (a notable mention must also be given to the endless production meetings held in Auckland’s dirtiest public houses) Parlour Games is revolver’s way of showing the world they are happy too keep the rock and roll ethos well and truly alive and kicking.

Armed with Parlour Games revolver is now at a stage to let the public do the talking. The phone will now be answered and the cars are ready to be upgraded, a castle in Scotland too wouldn’t go a stray. They are very modest.
