Resurrectors are a 9 piece dub reggae band from Sydney comprising an

eclectic mix of local talent as well as musicians originally from Barbados,

South Africa, England and New Zealand.

Healing is the bands debut album and has already won them some talented

fans: The album features a bonus remix of the title track by Fat Freddys

Drop producer and main man DJ Fitchie.

The band features some of Sydneys finest musicians. Cameron Deyell plays in

Bertie Blackmans band and makes hip hop with Ends & Means. Jon Pease tours nationally in

Paul Macs band. Declan Kelly has released a solo album which was successful

in its own right. Peter Firth is also a permanent member of Kingtide.

Resurrectors are an amazing live and will be touring extensively on the back

of the album. Already they have supported top acts including Fat Freddys

Drop and the Black Seeds in their recent sojourns across the Tasman.

The album combines great songwriting and soulful performance with a social

conscience and in doing so delivers a very powerful and compelling musical

message. This is great music made by people living in Australia and singing

about Australian subjects.

Resurrectors tap into a rich and soulful tradition whilst presenting their

sound in a current and contemporary style. This is evident in both the

musical and lyrical content as well as the way the album itself was

recorded. The album was recorded live to 2-inch analogue tape then mixed

digitally and mastered back through an analogue board.

Healing not only captures the spirit and joy that is at the heart of reggae,

it expresses some personal experience and perspective on Australian life,

while giving thanks to the originators of the idiom, especially those who

underwent much suffering and tribulation, and whose life stories are

inseparable from the music they inspired.

STOP PRESS: Healing has been selected for iTunes Single of the Week in the

Apple iTunes Music Store for the week of the albums release!
