SUPREME SCANDIPHONIC
ROCK'N'ROLL METAL
.
Berlin-based RESPAWN plaed intense and ass-kicking Metal, combining rock-influences with scandinavian sound and their german thrash-metal roots. The songs are rhythmical, melodical and vital. The neck-breaking live shows celebrate Rock'n'Roll attitude and the passionate performance brings Supreme Scandiphonic Rock'n'Roll Metal at its best.
RESPAWN was founded in early 2002 by Roland Peters (vocals), Matthias Busch (guitar), Eddie Mond (guitar), Clemens Glombitza (bass), Shumon Chakrabarti (drums). In the same year the Band recorded their self titled demo which was mixed by Spray (Skew Siskin). The four progressive tracks reflect the different musical influences of the members. RESPAWN started to establish their name by live shows in Berlin and a radio interview in 2003. The name spread in Berlin underground metal scene.
In 2004 the Band recorded a 5 Track EP in the Monongo Studios of Jim Voxx (Skew Siskin, Jingo de Lunch, Lemmy Kilmister). "NATURE'S FOUL CHILD" was mastered by Tom Müller at TTM Studios and received extraordinary Reviews by fans and press. With the impulse of the release the band toured intensively and hit Poland for the first time.
During 2005 and 2006 RESPAWN toured Germany (shows with Behemoth, Unleashed, Dew Scented, Hate Squad, Destruction, Morgana LeFay, Agent Steel, Communic, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, Scar Symmetry). RESPAWN grew into the german and the polish metal-scene by cooperating with the polish thrash-metal piece "HORRORSCOPE". Going westwards the band played a festival in Luxemburg. In late 2006 the band split with Roland Peters (vocals).
The band found a new frontman in Mirko Prietzsch (vocals and bass in Procton, vocals in Dusk Machine) in early 2007 and immediately recorded the single "By Foul Design". During the recordings of the RESPAWNs new material Eddie Mond left the band. Rhamin Therani (Unsoul, Deviant Arts) supported the band to do the first live show in 2007 featuring the new corporate appearance of RESPAWN.
In 2008 RESPAWN took part in "WACKEN METAL BATTLE" and made it until the german finals. Vincent Laboor from Sinners Bleed completed the band and enriched the sound by his virtous guitar performance. He became the live guitarplayer for RESPAWN. In late 2008 RESPAWN signed a deal with NICROTHAL RECORDS to release the recorded longplayer.
The album "THE CHAOS ENGINE" was published on Mai, 13 2009 via Point Music and during the following year RESPAWN promoted the album live.
Providing excellent, high quality music and performance was always the aim of RESPAWN. Stagnation was always seen as the begining of regession. At this time RESPAWN had reached a level where further growing required extended financial support and additional professional man-power to keep the (chaos) engine running. Due to the lack of both, in 2010 the band decided to close the chapter RESPAWN.
"We achieved all what was possible in this situation and under the given circumstaces and we want to be remembered as a good, asskicking metal band out of Berlin's underground from the beginning of the 21th century."
RESPAWN, 2010
