Renegade Beat was formed by Sam Drew and Dan Beckett in the winter of 2005, with the aim of making some ska. With the recruitment of Kev Pearce on drums early 2006 and the writing of a handful of songs with an interesting ska/ reggae/ punk sound, the band were ready to begin recording and gigging. Kev left Plymouth after his studies finished, shortly after the recording of our first E.P. In the summer of 2006, Jon Lister joined the band as the new drummer, and with a new edge the band were back on track.

Later on in 2006, Len started playing Sax with the band, and DJ Styles (Dave) started making appearences with the band with some scratches and the like. We started gigging again in the winter of 2006, and recorded a brand new single featuring the new line up over this time. In Easter 2007 Len left the band and Gra joined on trombone, and later in 2007 Tom joined on trumpet.

The tracks you're hearing now are from the new renegade beat e.p with our current line up. Hope you enjoy!

Feel free to add us as friends, we'd love to hear what people think of it, and network with local bands and bands playing the same kind of stuff. We hope to be doing some serious gigging before too long and would really welcome any gig swaps/ support slots coming our way.

See you soon! Be good!

Drums that are "louder than Satan when he finds Jesus in bed with his wife"

Brass that add "nice little skank happy blasts, resulting in a tight satisfying sound"
