RED I FLIGHT
"The Years" in stores everywhere?Since forming in 2002, Red I Flight has faced many challenges. Being a metal band in Michigan has had it's fair share of ups and downs. The band got their name from the song "Red Eye Flight" by Candiria. The "Eye" was changed to "I" to represent togetherness. Afterall, the band was formed around three brothers: vocalists John and Josh and drummer Jesse Robinson. Guitarists Matt Earp and Eric Gerloff and bass player Mike Polec completed the lineup and that's the way it would remain for over five years.

The band independently released a five song demo in 2004 called "Many are the dead who have prayed for this moment". One of the songs "Something Happy for a Change" was even featured on Havoc Tv, Comcast Digital Cable, making them the first unsigned artists to be featured on the program. Two years of countless shows would follow the release and in 2006 the band opened up for The Taste of Chaos Tour at Cobo Hall in Detroit, thanks to everyone who voted on myspace. Red I Flight has shared the stage with bands such as: The Acacia Strain, As I Lay Dying, Atreyu, Between the Buried and Me, Candiria, Darkest Hour, Dead to Fall, Emmure, Kitty, Misery Signals, On Broken Wings, Otep, Parkway Drive, Sevendust, Story of the Year and many many more.

Red I Flight headlined almost every major music venue and accomplished about as much as a band can accomplish on a local level. Finally, the hard work payed off. Late in 2006, the band was asked to showcase for Victory Records, the chance that every band hopes for. Unfortunetly, Victory passed on signing Red I Flight at that time. The band was crushed. Vocalist John Robinson tossed in the towel at this point after dedicating nearly six years of his life to the band. He respectfully moved on and decided to take his career as a tattoo artist more serious. The loss of John was a huge set back for the band but it was the best thing for John and his family.

Up to this point Red I Flight always had two vocalists. There was talk of possibly finding someone to fill the position but after a couple of months the band pushed forward with Josh as it's lone vocalist. Lucky for the band this worked out and Victory asked the band to showcase a second time, after seeing them live at Dirtfest, 2007. Victory did not pass on Red I Flight the second time. "The Years" recorded and produced by Jamie King, was released in March of 2008. Red I Flight now with a full length under their belt, continued to tour and make fans all over the country.
