It only took a few months for the Fox to make his Mark in the dancehall releasing songs like "Come Boogie Down" and one of his signature tunes "Down in Jamaica" which he featured "Naturally" his sound sysyem associate from the killing machine "LP International". His brother-in-law at that time, "Stress Altimus" was very interested in the guidance of the up and coming star and made the link with a Disc Jockey known as "Sting International".
Performing almost every other weekend at the famous Underground night Club hosted by Daved Levy,Fox began to cross over in a major way into the Hip Hop market. Red Fox and Sting began working with independent labels such as"Signet records"and "Tanya" Records where he made the classic "Pose Off in Yuh Pum Pum shorts" with dancehall genius Screechy Dan. Red Fox then helped to form the first dancehall group The"RUFF ENTRY Crew with other DJ's like Bajja Jedd, Nikey Fungus,Mr. Easy, Ravon,Screechy Dan and last but definately not the least, Mr. Lover Lover Boonbastic Shaggy. He toured constantly and was a staple act at every major night club in the New York area including the legendary Act III, Underground, Bentley's,Red Zone, Biltmore Ballroom,Q-Club and quite a few Latino clubs. His Ruff Entry Crew with the likes of Screechy Dan, Ravon, Bajja Jedd, Nikey Fungus and Shaggy continued to rock the crowd with thier numerous hits and high-energetic gyrating performances.
It was only a matter of time before the majors became interested in the rising star. Joe Mignon a friend of Stress Altimus led Fox to booking Agent Erskine Issac who was working for "Famous Artist" agency. Erkine began managing the young dancehall star and booked him on shows with Shabba Ranks, Supercat, R & B and Hip Hop acts. Red Fox then teamed up with the legendary rap group Brand Nubien to record the "Black Starline" on there "In God We Trust" album, he was also featured on the smashing Calypso hit "Wine Yuh Body" with the king of Calypso himself Mr. Feeling Hot Hot Hot, Arrow. He then made History by being the first dancehall artist to perform on the Jay Leno show on National Broadcasting Corporation NBC with the legendary "Wailing Souls." Red Fox finally had made an indelible mark not only for himself but also for the Ruff Entry Crew and for all future dancehall artiste by signing a lucrative deal with a major record label called Electra Records Warner Bros making him the first dancehall artist ever to be sign out of New York.
His debut album "As A Matter of Fox" helped to brigde the gap between Dancehall and Hip Hop featuring tracks like "Dem a Murderer" and "Getto Gospel."
