Lenny Kravitz, Jimi Hendrix and Prince are just a few artists that come to mind when you hear or see the New York based powerhouse rock/funk band Rawson perform live.



Started in 2001 by front man Sean Haythe Rawson has been blazing a trail to the top of the regional live music food chain ever since. In a recent radio interview at 92.7/96.9 WRRV in Poughkeepsie, NY dj Shmonty dubbed Rawson “the band that just cant seem to be stopped.” after telling a few war stories of unfortunate mishaps on the road but always managing to still deliver a high energy crowd pleasing performance.



When it was time to go into the studio to make the new cd the band decided to put a call out to Billboard charting producer Ray Balconis aka The Magic Man. Ray produced a number 1 hit for Kim Sozzi and also produced records for Prey, The Spunk Lads, Reina and Seratonin. The icing on the cake was having the legendary Don Grossinger do the mastering for the record. Don is well known in the industry for working with countless artist such as The Rolling Stones, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Maroon 5, Elvis Costello, Metallica, Christina Aguilera, RUN DMC, Paul McCartney and the list goes on and on.



The result is the self titled cd RAWSON. A fuel injected version of rock & funk filled with soulful vocals by band songwriter Sean and head rocking blues guitar riffs by lead guitar player Jimi Sharp. This is glued together with a hard-hitting, funky R&B styled rhythm section supplied by bass player Edwin Alvavrado and drummer G.



Rawson is now in the process of promoting the new record with their high energy live show up and down the east coast along with a brand new music video filmed at Times Square in NYC for the first single off the album Everyday.



Rawson will be around for a long time creating new music, performing and satisfying their insatiable appetite for tearing the roof off of every venue they play across the country. “The stage is our home. We jump around and do the rock n roll thing but it’s coming from our hearts. It’s what we do.”
