Ravens Place

Ravens Place came together in early 2005 out of Will Nealy, Will Muncaster and Jeff Whites former band Straight Shot and guitarists Chris Gallagher and Jeremy Long. Each member came into the band drawing from completely different musical influences. This diversity in style created a unique blend of rock, funk and blues that can’t be classified. After a few months of being together Ravens Place being to earn the respect of the top area local musicians and winning over audiences all of central Virginia. After 6 months together the band did a 3 song demo. The title track “Insomnia” soon got thrown into rotation on VA stations.



In June of 2006 Ravens Place released a cd of everything it had done up until that point. Titled “B.B.T.” It was recorded and released as a meeting point of everything they had been through in the bands first year together. The first single off of “B.B.T”, Low, received rotation on local radio stations in both Charlottesville and Richmond VA.



Since its release Ravens Place has been performing all over the central east coast building its following everywhere they go. In may 2007 while on a break from performing the band and guitarist Jeremy Long decided to part ways due to creative differences on the direction of the band. Instead of auditioning for new guitarists the band decided to keep it internal and handed guitar duties over to lead singer Will Nealy. This began a new era for Ravens Place. The energy of the band was rejuvenated. Rehearsals began immediately and the following performances were hailed as the best yet.



In March 2008 Ravens Place started getting ready to go into the studio to record a new album. Ravens Place is currently in preproduction for this new cd, tentatively titled “Bullets and Dice”.
