Ralph "Real" Washington
born in Reading, P.A. and raised in Lancaster and York, P.A. started taking drum lessons at the age of eight (8) and then started playing piano and singing with the praise and worship team at church. His first album in 2001, entitled “Real 1”, was self written, produced, and engineered. This Christian, R&B, Hip Hop collaboration lead RalphREAL up and down the east coast and in three cities and two villages of Africa, performing at youth retreats, church services, and other events.
As time passed, he found a passion in producing and arranging music. Still keeping his beliefs and values, RalphREAL steps out of the four walls of church and produces music at Mellow D’s Studio. Doug Moore is the owner of Mellow D’s Studio and also provides screen printing. David Forney is the engineer and a graduate from Sheffield Institute. RalphREAL is responsible for studio production and promotion and anything that is solely produced by him is categorized under his label, WeFam Productions which was
established in 1997.
RalphREAL can be found on any music genre, from Hip Hop and R&B, Neo-Soul to Punk, Funk, Rock, Dance, Electro, Drum and Bass, and the newest found genre of DubStep. Along with his production, arrangement of songs, creating and featuring on hooks (choruses), he also continues to perform live in concert. He has played with some of the most talented musicians and recording artists around the United States, including artist such as Erik Macek from California. Macek won Best Male Vocalist of the Year in the L.A. Music Awards. AvenueTo. from Northern Virginia. AvenueTo. is a hip hop, jazz band composed of three (3) amazing producers including Oddissee, Unknown, and Niko who is the owner of Asara Records. AvenueTo. released their album, Three Way Intersection on which RalphREAL plays keyboard. RalphREAL is also featured with bands such as Groove Jones (funk), Chuggernot (rock), and sometimes his own! RalphREAL has also become famous in hosting events as well.
RalphREAL has experience working with many programs and instruments. He has utilized Mac G5, Pro Tools HD, Avolan Compressor, Korg Triton and Triton Extreme, Reason, and Midi Modules. He has played various instruments including Drums, Piano and Bass. RalphREAL has added his flavor to many independent artists and labels.
