Of Malagasy origin, Rachel Ratsizafy grew up listening to traditional Malagasy songs, pop music, Afro-American and African music.
In the nineties, she performs with "Zoukafri", an Afro-Caribbean trio, "Pososhok", a South African and Cameroonian band with whom she ensures the first part of Salif Keita, and, "Time-Mozam", a Mozambican group.
In 1994, she meets Emmanuel Djob and joins "The Black & White Gospel Singers" with whom she still sings today in a more international concept, "The Black & White Xperience".
It's in 2003 that she starts singing with "Jazzpel" and records three albumsRachel Ratsizafy polished up her first solo album "Natural Born Stranger", back to her roots and inspiration: Madagascar.
Rachel called on Olivier-Roman Garcia a globe trotter arranger who is well acquainted with the musics of the Indian Ocean. With Olivier, she wrote and composed for the most part "Natural Born Stranger" released in January 2008.
D'origine malgache, Rachel Ratsizafy a été bercée pendant sa jeunesse par les chants traditionnels de Madagascar, la pop anglo-saxonne, ainsi que les musiques afro-américaines et africaines.

C'est en 2003 qu'elle rejoint le groupe « Jazzpel » et en enregistre trois opus.Aujourd'hui,Rachel Ratsizafy a sorti son premier album solo « Natural Born Stranger », un retour à la source de son inspiration, Madagascar.
Rachel a,pour celà, fait appel au musicien arrangeur globe trotter Olivier-Roman Garcia, qui connaît bien les musiques de l'Océan Indien. Avec lui, elle a composé la majeure partie de cet album sorti en Janvier 2008.
