This band was formed in 2003 out of friendship and a love for music. Quick Victim is a steamrolling jugernaut four peice band from Longmont, Colorado. The band carries the opinion that we are all victims of one thing or another, whether it be society, religion, war, poverty, abuse, plaque, stupidity, drug addiction, or otherwise. They therefore use their music as an engine to express their views on such topics. They have been inspried by bands such as Slayer, Metallica, Pantera, Exodus, Testament, Black Label Society, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and thats just the begining. Quick Victim certainly do not fall short of their standards. Thick distortion, ripping solo's, and upbeat riffs, encourage the listener to bang thy head. Shut your windows and lock the doors, this band's sole purpose is to blow them straight off of the hinges. Quick Victim is a band for the true music lover, a metal Ramrod for the real headbangers and lovers of the almighty RIFF!!!!

QUICK VICTIM- the power of the riff was in full force during their set. Solo's and attitude was shown with class and pure respect. QUICK VICTIM had guitar fans up by the stage watching with awe. This is a great band and a great group of guy's. DDP will be having this band back real soon. Thanks guy's for a great show.

Quick Victim's recently-released album, "The First Victim," is an exercise in intensity. The young Longmont-based quartet takes its distorted riffs, head-banging drums and searing solos very seriously, and singer Daniel Holdran channels the same attitude through his throat. His voice often sounds like rapids rushing through a narrow channel.
On the other hand, "The First Victim" is most interesting when the band reels it back a bit, as in the fifth track, "Torment," which in its slower, deliberate tempo and sedated delivery (there's even an acoustic guitar) is no less intense than the album's horns-of-the-devil rockers.

Recently Katie Schomker from Ft. Collins and writer for Groupie Gazette followed the band and wrote about them go to http://groupiegazette.blogspot.com/

CD of the WEEK: QUICK VICTIM - "1st Victim" - QUICK VICTIM's motto is "The Power Of The Riff" and trust me Quick Victim can throwdown some major riffs. "1st Victim" opens with "S.I.D." and sets the cd's tone with riff heavy southern fried shred. On "Torment" vocalist, guitarist Daniel "Lethal Weapon" Holdran's whiskey soaked blues metal voice has never sounded better. Hearing the pain and anguish in his voice show its not just a song to him, its a lifestyle. The backline of Joel Wolahan and Keene Monahan pound out a rhythm reminscent of S.R.V.'s Double Trouble. Then there is lead guitarist Tyler "Ripper" Ravenscroft. I have been fortunate to see "Ripper" live several times and I would put him in my top 5 most talented guitar players I listen to. Just listen to the groove and solo "Ripper" lays down on "Eternal" (which is the opening song on my site) and you will see why he is the best unknown guitarist out there. QUICK VICTIM just signed with OEM/Music Factory and is recording there new cd as we speak. If you are a fan of southern of metal or BLACK LABEL SOCIETY the QUICK VICTIM's "1st Victim" is for you. Go to their site and check them out and support this great band.
