QUENTON RUBIN

Quenton Rubin, known to friends as Que, was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Que has been playing guitar from a very young age. He started breaking the rules as a early as twelve, by gigging in establishments that were 21 plus! He went on to study music at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Like many artists before him, he hot tailed it to NYC, slept in the street, hopped the subway and lived on a potato-chips-and-water diet before landing his first big gig. While still in his late teens he began to tour with Keith Sweat, Al B. Sure, Melissa Morgan, Brenda K. Starr, Gerald Levert and R&B group Entouch, in which he eventually became a member signed to Electra Records.

In 2004, Quenton collaborated with wife, Malaika and George Clinton (and The P Funk All Stars) on a record and video entitled "P in the Funk" and enjoyed some radio success as well as having the video in rotation on BET's Grown Folks video show. They also got the opportunity to tour with George briefly doing shows in LA, FL, OH as well as a Morning television show on Chicago's WB Station. With his first solo project entitled "Poor Little Rich Boy" under his belt and working with great producers such as, Peter Mockran and Al Sutton, Quenton continues to push forward. 2011 will be the release of the highly anticipated album,, "Make It To Hollywood", along side his wife singer/songwriter Malaika. "Make It To Hollywood" was produced by Que and features a couple of his closest friends. Also in the works is another solo album, envisioned to be an instrumental project with a few vocal tracks. And last but not least, the Poor Little Rich Boy Autobiography, due to release in 2011.

Beyond being an accomplished guitar player, Que's musical talents include piano, bass, songwriting, producing and a strong ability to make you feel and believe a story through his vocals. With all of the upcoming projects from upcoming new artists like Avery and Crystal, Quenton plans to take his playing and production to the next level by taking RocNRoll and intergrating the old and new styles of music to create something fresh.

"Being able to incorporate different styles of music into mine is what I think allows me to be different," says Que. "Breaking the rules. It's all about the feeling."
