QBoy is unleashing the follow-up remix album to his 2009 release 'Moxie' supported by a new live performance music video 'Bounce Rave (Disco Damage Remix)' which can be viewed on: www.youtube.com/qboymusic
This hot collection of exclusive and previously unreleased dance versions of some of his best tracks from 'Moxie' features remixes by Disco Damage, Goldmember, Kevin Graves, Jonny Moirée, Dickey Doo, BlameHunterLover, Scottyjaxx, SRPH, Edu de la Torre & Macka-T.
QBoy has made history since he started to perform and DJ in 2001. He was the UK's first openly gay hip-hop artist, co-running both the UK's debut gay hip-hop club; 'Pac-Man' and on-line magazine www.gayhiphop.com. He also created and promoted Europe's first gay hip-hop festival 'PeaceOUT UK', showcasing emerging new talent from the LGBT community. This brave stance in uncharted waters helped QBoy gain global media coverage and the attention of his peers and idols - he supported Boy George on tour, remixed the likes of Salt-N-Pepa, Kate Nash and Princess Superstar, featured on ITV, Channel 4, and BBC shows, starred in the ground-breaking award winning film 'Pick Up The Mic' and presented his own powerful Channel 4 documentary 'Coming Out To Class'. QBoy was proudly nominated for the Performing Artist of the Year award at the first GALAs, alongside Will Young and the late Stephen Gately and he has also been featured in everything from i:D to The Guardian, gaining over a dozen front covers worldwide.
Having performed in the USA, Australia, India, Germany, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Croatia, Estonia, Sweden, Norway, Iceland and of course the UK, it's easy to see QBoy has wide appeal and likeability. Key performances include the main stages at EuroPride 2008 in Stockholm and Trafalgar Square at London Pride 2010, where he performed for a full capacity crowd of 16,000 people, which is featured in the new music video promo 'Bounce Rave (Disco Damage Remix)'.
QBoy is currently working on a new dance project as ''Sam LeMans' with the help of friend and super NYC DJ/producer, Larry Tee.
Sam LeMans first single 'Espanola' will be sporting a new music video for summer release and this will be followed up with a cover of 'Pop Musik' originally by M. As Sam LeMans he has already laid vocals down for Tommy Trash (Ministry Of Sound), Robbie Rivera (Juicy Music), Tombstone aka Kevin Graves (DANR Music) and for Larry Tee's upcoming sophomore album (Ultra Records). This new change in direction from QBoy (hip-hop) to Sam LeMans (commercial dance) has broadened his appeal even further and you can check out some of his great DJ sets at: www.soundcloud.com/samlemans
Catch QBoy/Sam LeMans DJ & perform at Glastonbury Festival this year at area Block9: 22nd – 26th June 2011 !!!
