UTG the Untamed Gorillaz is a Self-Made, Self-Produced group made up of two artists; BIG P & DJ Pumba. Coming from the povertious Pajaro Valley from poor families, the two experienced many struggles just trying to get by. From a City where there is a drug dealer or crook in every street and the youth turns to gangs for protection, UTG has made a name for themselves sharing their Story. "You don't know how it is til you Step into the Shoes of the Misunderstood." says BIG P.



It all started back in 2004. With the potential and drive to suceed, Big P and DJ Pumba burnt over a thousand CDs. Making sure to never leave the house without taking a stack, they began to get recognition in their home town. At this time both BIG P and DJ Pumba were attending seperate high schools, which allowed them to promote and expand their fan base in two places at the same time. Their passion for music allowed them to pass out over a thousand free CDs, with the sole itention of spreading the word about their music.



Early 2005, BIG P and DJ Pumba had the performance that got the city of Watsonville's attention. The venue was the Watsonville Mello Center,fitting an estimated one thousand people. The place was sold out before showtime, leaving a line of people outside the doors, with no ticket in. That night, UTG was performing their well known song "Sometimes".

The crowd reaction was crazy as "UTG" was being chanted when BIG P & DJ Pumba came out to the stage that night.



This was only the beginning. Today, UTG the Untamed Gorillaz has been able to produce, compose and record over two hundred songs. With that same drive and motivation, UTG has been able to expand their music and tell their story all over California and many places outside of State boundaries. The best is yet to come!
