My name is Taylor Johnson (aka Proper-T). I am a proud 09' graduate of the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT CHAPEL HILL (National Champs, just in case you were wondering).
As you have probably guessed, I am a musician. I grew up that way, and it's part of my being. I am surrounded by family and friends who have shown immense support for my craft, and for that I am extremely proud and thankful. Had you asked me last year, I would've just identified myself as an addict for the art of audio production. That addiction has only grown. However, I have undergone a significant transformation as a musician in the past year. I have recently decided to pursue a career as an in-demand songwriter, mixing my skills as a producer with my voice and my writing ability. So lets get it started:
Like I said, I am no rookie to the art of production. I love working with artists, writers, and other producers in a quest to enhance my ears and skill set as a music producer and audio engineer. Since 2004, I have had the chance to work in many studios including Uptime in NY, Morning star in Philly, and Street Flavor in Nashville. Every experience has proven to better my ear for music. While in North Carolina, I was blessed with the opportunity to produce and place a song for Grammy Award winning Songwriter KANDI Burress. Her Album will be coming out soon! The track is called "Superwoman"! Cop It. It is my intention to obtain more placement as I continue pushing forward. I am now centered out of Minneapolis in hopes of eventually obtaining my Pro-Tools certification, but more, growing as a musician. If you know me though, you know I couldn't just be up here without creating something.
My recently completed project is extremely personal and perfect to me in every way. I came up and teamed up with my BEAST of a business partner, Trelly. Let me just take a second and acknowledge how amazing of a team I'm a part of. Trelly had a vision when he was a little kid. I remember he and I would sit in the basement and just stack tracks. It was after our first completed song that Trelly put his vision to work. He now has a professional recording studio in downtown St. Paul with his own clientele, and a plan: Proper TNT Innovations. Together, and all in house, we've created "Piano Man". The tracks I have listed are part of that project. Of course, for the sake of promotion, I have decided to put the hottest tracks from the project here on the site. However, the project includes a very wide range of music. It is impossible for anyone to pick just one favorite. It demonstrates not only my diverse approach to musicianship, but the utter raw talent that we have.IN HOUSE. Again, Trelly is a BEAST!
