Powerjazz trio is from Palomar,the west zone of Buenos Aires,Argentina,and was born at 1993.after many changes,now the group is formed by Juampy Juarez on electric guitar,Eduardo Muñoz on fretless bass, and Ezequiel Piazza on drums. The trio plays jazz standards mainly,but they use piano's trios aeshtetics, outside improvisation concept based on the language of David Liebman and Steve Coleman, and an unusual energy and intensity.
After five intensive years playing in different venues in Buenos Aires the trio just released "Standards and our songs"the first group's CD wich will be distribuited by MDR records.
El Powerjazz trio es oriundo de Palomar,zona oeste del Gran Bs As, Argentina existe desde el año 1993, y luego de varios cambios, en el año 2004 llego a su formacion actual, integrada por Juampy Juarez en guitarra,Eduardo Muñoz en bajo fretless y Ezequiel Piazza en bateria.
El grupo se caracteriza por interpretar standards de jazz, basados en una estetica similar a la de trios de piano adaptados a la guitarra,algunos elementos de improvisacion"outside",tomados de los conceptos de David Liebman y Steve Coleman, mas una energia inusual.
Luego de 5 años intensos tocando en diferentes escenarios de Buenos Aires el trio acaba de editar "Standards and our songs"primer CD del grupo que sera distribuido por el sello MDR
