The posers began in the summer of 2005, as an offshoot of a band called the Main Idea (who played awful covers of classic rock songs, complete with off key horn parts from Louis). Jamie was on drums, Chris on guitar/"vocals", E.J on bass, and Patrick on guitar. Louis picked up bass in may 2005. Then one fateful summer day, Louis, Chris, and Jamie were sorting vegetables when Sam and Shai walked by. They jammed and soon Sam joined the band on guitar. Although Shai did not join up, he remains forever an inspiration to all of the Posers. E.J and Patrick had both left the band by September 2005.

After a few practice sessions, the Posers played their first gig at a gazebo in south Orange, in September 2005. Many fans showed up to support the new band, but were soon driven away by the terrible performance. We were then semi-tricked into playing a Christian music festival, which was weird cause none of us are Christian. Alex Sugarman was our singer, and we won 4th prize. Unfortunately, they also tried to convert Jamie. Edan Finard soon joined on vocals, but did not come to practice because he was balancing a pillow on his head, and it was really comfortable. Eventually, Edan became a more active member of the band. Over the year, the Posers improved greatly, and even recorded a demo in January 2006. they made over $200 selling it. We played our first show in March 2006 at the Baird Center, which was quite successful. Unfortunately, our other Baird shows were not as good, as all the scene kids went outside to smoke during our sets. we have played many gigs since then, and are always looking for new ones. Our music is fast paced, catchy, and humorous. We are always working on new songs, and will play pretty much any show you offer us, so feel free to invite us.

"I love the Posers. They remind me so much of the raw energy of AOD and the early 80’s NJ hardcore bands. It’s like they’re inventing punk for themselves all over again! The pizzeria thing is hilarious!"-Jim Testa, Jersey Beat
