Turkey’s hippest act and a „fast rising band“ with a „radiant future“ as The New York Times points out, have released their second album in February 2009. In this new album titled „Studio Plastico, the duo have maintained their unique voice while introducing variations into the rhythms they are known to use. The tracks do have a touch of the 80’s but Portecho have generally refrained from sticking with a single period in music as their reference. The rhythms borrow from r&b, breakdance or breakbeat and the melodies in this album are mostly of the major kind. „Studio Plastico“ is a record with character that will put a smile on your face whether you are on the dance floor or just quietly listening to the album in the privacy of your home.
Tan Tuncag and Deniz Cuylan got together in 2005 to form Portecho, they signed to Elec-Trip Records and recorded their debut, „Undertone“. Their second album „Studio Plastico“ was released in February 2009. Portecho have worked with producer Oguz Kaplangi in both of their relases.

Biographies:
Tan Tuncag, who combines electronica with acoustic elements in his music, embarked on a musical adventure in London where he played in several clubs. After his return to Turkey, Tan Tuncag became one of the leaders of new cross-platform art in Turkey, he has been writing music for theatre, films, TV and commercials. Tuncag has performed in the same events with prominent DJs and electronica groups such as Plaid, Mouse on Mars, The Orb, and Chemical Brothers. Apart from Portecho, Tan Tunçağ also has a Turkish downtempo/rock band, called “Mira”.
Deniz Cuylan brings an alternative angle to modern music through his mixture of groovy electronica and jazz. In addition to performing on stage, he has produced music for television, movies, commercials and fashion shows (Dusseldorf and Moscow), hosted the radio show "Tirtillar", and he was the editor of the alternative lifestyle-music magazine "Bant". He first became known in Turkey for his "Maya" project whose "Telecine" album was released in 2003. In 2007, he released an illustration book/album called "Netame" in collaboration with the well-known illustrator Sadi Guran and writer Senem Akcay. Deniz Cuylan has completed an album with the ethnic-electronic music band, Norrda. This album titled “Infinite Face” was released by Akkiraz Muzik in 2007. Deniz Cuylan has been a producer at Elec-Trip since June 2007.

Tan Tunçağ ve Deniz Cuylan ikilisinden oluşan Portecho’nun „Studio Plastico“ adlı yeni albümü, Oğuz Kaplangı prodüktörlüğü ve müzik direktörlüğünde Elec-Trip Records tarafından yayımlandı. „Studio Plastico“nun ilk albüme göre en büyük farkı grubun kimliğini koruyarak ritimlerde denediği çeşitlilik. Parçalar, ‘80 ler gibi tek bir döneme gönderme yapmaktan çok daha fazla referans barındırıyor. Klasik dans ritimlerinden biraz daha uzak, daha aksak, zaman zaman r&b, breakdance veya breakbeat’i andıran ritimler duyabileceğiniz albümde, minör akorlar kendini majörlere gönül rahatlığıyla bırakabiliyor. „Studio Plastico“ için hem dinleyenleri, hem de dans edenleri gülümseten, baştan sona çok karakteristik bir albüm demek yanlış olmayacaktır.
2005 yılında biraraya gelen Tan Tunçağ ve Deniz Cuylan, "Portecho"yu kurdu ve plak şirketi olarak Elec-Trip Records ile anlaştı. İkili, “Undertone” isimli çıkış albümlerini prodüktör Oğuz Kaplangı ile hazırlayıp kaydetti. Portecho’nun ilk albümü Eylül 2006’da piyasaya çıktı.
Portecho, 23 Mart 2007’de Amsterdam’da De Melkweg’te (Turkey Now) sahne aldı. 12 Mayıs 2007’de Floransa’nın Fabbrica Europa isimli organizasyonunda 2000’den fazla kişiye konser veren grup, 15 Haziran 2007’de ise Stokholm’deki Södra Teatern’deydi.

Biyografi:

« Un groupe à succès fulgurant qui promet un avenir radieux ! » C’est ainsi que le New York Times définit ce groupe d’Elec-Trip Records, un des plus populaires en Turquie. Le duo composé de Tan Tunçag et Deniz Cuylan ont su créer une musique danse bien propre à eux en mélangeant electronica et rock’n’roll avec une touche des années ‘80. Leur premier album « Undertone » mettait ensemble les sections rythmiques électroniques avec des mélodies de guitares intimes.
C’est en 2005 que Tan Tunçag et Deniz Cuylan ont formé Portecho et signé avec Elec-Trip Records. « Undertone » a été produit par Oguz Kaplangi et publié en septembre 2006. Ils se préparent actuellement à sortir leur deuxième album prévu pour fin 2008.

Biographie:
Tan Tunçag, qui mélange électronica avec des éléments acoustiques a commencé son aventure musicale à Londres où il jouait dans de nombreux clubs. Dès son retour en Turquie il est devenu une des figures importantes de la vague des arts transversaux (cross-platform art) en écrivant la musique de divers projets de théâtre, films, de télé et de publicité. Après avoir partagé la scène avec de DJ imminents et de grands groupes de musique électronique comme Plaid, Mouse on Mars, The Orb et Chemical Brothers il a formé en 2005 son propre groupe de électro-rock Portecho avec Deniz Cuylan. Leur premier album est sorti en 2006 par Elec-Trip Records. En 2007 il s’est rejoint à Miray Kurtulus pour former Mira.
Deniz Cuylan apporte un angle différent à la musique moderne en mélangeant une musique électronique qui groove avec du jazz. Il a composé pour des films, la télévision, la publicité et pour des défilés de mode. Il a aussi publié un livre de dessins, travaillé dans un magazine de musique comme éditeur et animé une émission de radio. Il a réalisé le projet « Maya » dont l’album « Telecine » a été publié en 2003. Il a aussi participé à l’album « Infinite Face » du groupe éthnique électronique Norrda. Il travaille actuellement chez Elec-Trip Records en tant que producteur.
