Proyecto de rock (en escencia), ideado a finales del 2006 en Santo Domingo, con el simple

proposito de hacer música para satisfacer necesidades (artísticas) de los integrantes.

El nombre de la banda se lo soñó uno de los integrantes imaginándose que tocaba felizmente en un grupo

llamado Pulpo. Como el nombre Pulpo ya está ocupado por otro grupo musical la banda decidió

llamarse Poolpo.



El sonido de la banda se ve propulsado por las ganas de tocar algo que llene a los músicos del grupo

sin tratar de seguir las fórmulas pre-establecidas de lo que debería ser buena música. Si funciona

para poolpo, es más que suficiente.



La banda está conformada por músicos de renombrados grupos activos y ya desaparecidos del rock local.

Poolpo is a rock band (in essence) created at the end of the year 2006 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, with the simple purpose of making music to satisfy the artistic needs of the band members. The band's name came from a dream that one of the members had, in which he imagined he was happily playing in a band by the name of Pulpo. Because the name Pulpo was already taken, the group decided to call itself Poolpo. The sound of the band is boosted by the desire to play something that fulfills the band member's requirements without following the pre-established music formula of what good music should be. If it is good for Poolpo, it's more than enough. The band is formed by musicians of renamed active and disappeared bands of the Dominican Republic rock scene.
