Its 1996, somewhere in Michigan on a sizzling July Saturday. Inside a Best Buy stands a Toronto born 12 year old with a 2pac,Jay Z and Nas album in hand. That day a 12 year old became Plus Mo.

In high school, he wrote more raps than notes. When talent shows didn’t fulfill an evergrowing desire for the stage, he set his sights on drama. Instantly landing a spot on the school Improv team and a role as Jesus in an Easter rendition of the beatitudes, he was a two time class clown and voted most likely to be famous by 16.

Several years of writing, performance and recording would materialize in 2006 when Toronto radio station,Flow 93.5 crowned Plus Mo the winner of the 4th and final Soulsearch competition. As the best rap artist among 250 contestants he’d make his biggest local splash the following year with the release of his debut EP ‘The Fabolous Life Of Plus Mo’. Boasting production from Rashad Smith and homegrown hip hop artist Saukrates, 3 of the EP’s songs made heavy rotation enabling Plus to leap from showcases at bars to upscale events like Canadian Music Week.

His greatest achievements would come in 2008 when Plus formed an electro-pop group named The Royal Society. Their single “You Say” sprung the group into immediate success. The song led to a distribution deal with Warner, heavy rotation nationwide on radio as well as MuchMoreMusic and the 7th spot on Billboard Canada’s Emerging Artist chart. The single sold 2000 copies and earned them notoriety as an opening act for Universal Motown up and comer’s Down With Webster and joined on the R.O.O.T.S tour in 2009 for chart topper Flo Rida. He also resurfaced on Hip Hop scene taking his act to Atlanta that November performing alongside Travis Porter.

Still in the infancy of his career, Plus is a gifted performer whose charisma and talent seem to be infectious. His journey through the manic highs and pitfalls of the industry has sculpted a seasoned, versatile, consistent artist and songwriter. In early 2010, Plus released the mixtape entitled ‘Sweet Chin Music Vol. 1'. It displays his elite lyrical ability while instantly hooking listeners with nostalgic substance. It takes incomparable artistry to stay afloat in an industry saturated with gangster and pimp personas.By staying true to himself Plus has translated teenage ambition into the foundations of a triumphant success story.
