PUBLISHED:  May 10, 2010
DESCRIPTION:
The duo Quadron consists of vocalist CoCo Maleika and producer Robin Hannibal. Their debut self-titled CD is released on the Plug Research Music label and is a mix of both hand played instruments and Electronica labeling their music Electronic Soul.

CoCo and Robin met while working on the soul collective project debut Kort For Dine Laeber under the Boom Clap Bachelors imprint.. CoCo lead the vocals and Robin, along with other producers. Founded in 2005, The Boom Clap Bachelors is a collective of producers, musicians, and DJs out of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Robin Hannibal is also a world-renowned record producer formally of Nobody Beats the Beats as well as part of Owusu and Hannibal. Both he and his co-partner Phillip Owusu recorded the critically-acclaimed Living With released on the indie soul/dance Ubiquity Records. Owusu and Hannibals fusing of soul music with modern R & B, House, Broken Beat, Trip Hop and Electronica has been hailed by producers/DJs Giles Peterson and Pharrell.

Quadron is the first soul group to come from Denmark. CoCo credits Sade as one of her musical idols and major influences. Where as Hannibal is influenced by a wide range of musicians and producers like DAngelo, The System, Jay Dee and Scritti Politti.

Ive seen the group perform twice this week as they made their US debut and was extremely impressed with how Quadron is brave in creating a sound and style that hails from overseas.
Hannibal is a modern day wiz who meshes his music along with CoCos organic and earthy voice. The beginning of the disc, the duo pushes for a retro soul sound with the live instruments while taking listeners for a ride on the last half of the disc. I say that because it has that Sade-ish futuristic and soothing sound that you could play while entertaining guests or relax and do work around the house. Quadron is one of the new talents of 2010 that you need to check out and support. www.myspace.com/quadronquadron
