PLAZMA is a popular Russian band. PLAZMA are: Roman Chernitsyn (vocals, lyrics, music) and Maxim Postelniy (background vocals, keyboards, music and arrangements). They were born and grew up together in Volgograd, Russia. Their music can be classified as a pop-rock/synthy-pop style. The first two albums were sold in Russia with a total number of more than 1 million copies. Currently the third album is being recorded.

The songs reach top places in Russian charts. For several consecutive years PLAZMA received a prize as the band with the biggest number of broadcasts in Russia. Quite often PLAZMA participates in different TV shows on MTV Russia and other music channels. Their music videos are on air on a constant basis on MTV Russia, Muz-TV, Music Box and other music channels.

After finding fame in their native city in the end of 90s, PLAZMA settled in Moscow and began the conquest of Russia from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok. PLAZMAs first single, Take My Love (on which a video was released soon) made it to the top of all popular Russian music charts. Later in the same year, a second video was completed for the song The Sweetest Surrender - a brilliant non-stop action-filled music video jumping with vibe and energy.

In December 2000 PLAZMAs debut compact disc was released. It took its title from the song Take My Love. Immediately after its release, the CD became number 1 in Russia. PLAZMA was quickly becoming popular not only in Russia but throughout Eastern Europe.

PLAZMAs second album (released in the end of 2002), named enigmatically 607, differs from the earlier sounds of the group. It is more contemporary, sophisticated music with complex melodies that, in essence, show the present creative direction of the group, and serves as solid proof that PLAZMA is one of the most influential groups in Russia today.

After a long break, PLAZMA is returning to charts with a new album called Black and White. The name is taken not by chance - it mirrors entirely the idea of the new album. The Black and the White are like the unity and the fight of the opposites. There are two conditions of the human souls in this CD.

In the first part of the album, which reflects the black side of the band, you'll not hear happy motives and carefree songs. The harmonious crossing with the White side of the CD is the instrumental track, the idea of which was evoked after visiting Norway. The respect of Plazma to this country and its customs (paticularly to the group A-Ha) is reflected in their song called The Call of the Fjords. This song is a small dedication to their distant dream.

The second part is a return to the usual sounding of PLAZMA. Bright dancing melodies, light lyrics and romantic mood are the things which make the group popular among millions of fans in Russia and the nearest surrounding countries. The bright side of the CD includes all latest hits such as One life (radio-version) and remixes for Lonely II, Never again and One of a kind.

Currently PLAZMA is busy with its creative work and touring. In the near future a new single for the club-track Living in the past will be released. This song is for sure the next hit of the season.
