Plastique Noir is a Brazilian gothic/post-punk band born in the end of 2005/beginning of 2006 at Fortaleza-CE-Brazil, whose current members are Airton S (voice/electronics), Márcio Mäzela (electric guitar) and Danyel (bass/guitars). Suddenly it got notoriety at its homecity, where its gigs became habitual in the main local nightclubs and festivals. It has been invited yet in its early months for doing the opening act for Cruxshadows (USA) Brazilian Tour and other performings through several Brazilian states.
Still in its debut year, the band launched two releases: a demo CD-R named "Offering" (rare item) and "Urban Requiems" EP (distributed by the german netlabel AF Music). This last one received nice comments by famous medias in the genre, for example, the Portuguese magazine Elegy Iberica and Mick Mercer's Live Journal, world reference in the goth culture.
In 2007, Plastique Noir was invited for WGT Festival (Wave Gottik Treffen, at Leipzig, Germany) e started the production of its first official full album, titled "Dead Pop" (Pisces Records, Brazil), which has been released one year later. While the record was being developed, the ex-keyboarder Max Bernardo (deceased in 2010) quits for personal reasons, but the band followed its activities as a trio, starting a long tour through quite the whole country. Despite it's been a fragmented tour, it kept the band often on the road for almost three years. Plastique Noir was in the line-up of some biggest Brazilian indie festivals like Abril Pro Rock, Virada Cultural, WoodGothic, Feira da Música, Bananada, Calango and DoSol.
In 2010, the band was invited as the opening act for the Frozen Autumn's only performing at Brazil and, in the end of that same year, started the production of its second album, titled "Affects", released in 2011 by Wave Records with wordlwide distribution.

ABOUT AFFECTS
"Affects" is the new album by the Brazilian band Plastique Noir.
The debut CD "Dead Pop" (2008) by Pisces Records presented a synthesis of the band's work at that particular moment. "Affects" brings exclusively new songs created during Plastique Noir's 3 years tour. It shows the experiences gathered on the stage and studio resulting in more mature sonorities on the 13 tracks of the present CD.
The cd title "Affects" evokes meaningful circumstances for the band. Circumstances that affected somehow the
members' artistic inspirations which resulted according to them in surreal ideas, romantic or aggressive tunes.
The sonorities intend to preserve a dancing and pop wave suggesting at the same time some daring perceptions on different senses.
"Affects" brings shorter tracks of lyrical subjectivity. The CD was produced by Plastique Noir and the full work
of sound engineering was made by Jorge Albuquerque at Studio 746. The final producing process was made in 3 months of intense work concluded in February 2011.
Almost 20 songs were composed and 12 were chosen to feature in the new cd. The band pays a homage to Max Bernardo , ex-keyboard player dead during the recording of the new work presenting one of his songs "Never Look For People Us" which was never executed previously and comes as a 13th bonus sound track.
Two musicians were invited to take part on the present work, the piano player, choral singer and musical
director Felype Ferro (The Drunks , Baby! / Elodia) who toke part at on-going living performances and recorded
mostly of piano and keyboard melodies and Jean Synthex (ex-Scarlet Leaves / ex-Aureah) who shared his talents on the most atmospheric tracks like "A Dream inside a Dream (Inside a Dream)", "Emerging Rats" and "Mara Hope".
"Rose of Flesh and Blood" brings an emotional attachment of the band members to the sunny obscurity of their homeland Fortaleza, it comes full of musical and textual references related to it.
"Affects" also marks the transition of Plastique Noir to the reference label on Gothic and related genres Wave
Records by Alex Twin (3 Cold Men / Pecadores / Individual Industry / Wintry).
