A Capricorn – energetic, free, and independent – Pistache is part of a family whom love and support him. Son of a mother and father whom past away in 1992, brother to three sister, and one brother, an artist at heart and provider for his family. Pistache has a realistic view of today’s world. But, no matter what stage of his life, Pistache will undoubtedly provide and succeed.

“I want to have a stable career of making music, in order to inspire others, provide talent, and let people know that there is nothing wrong with following your dreams. Music and performing are my children – the reasons I breathe. Being on stage is supreme jubilation,” says Pistache.

Local audiences have embraced Pistache Griye as a professionally-talented dancer, rapper, and entertainer, and an unselfish leader who champions the causes of artists involved in all genres. There’s a larger audience ready to discover the many talents of this remarkable, multi-talented performer.

Pistache Griye first performed on stage at age 4, stunning audiences with his dancing and memorizing smile, when he competed on his first dance talent show 1978 at his daycare The Children’s Mansion located at 107th Street and Riverside dr. An active student dancing and performing throughout his high school and college careers, Pistache pushed himself to new heights each day, setting goals and reaching them with uncanny and unseen regularity. After college he went full time into dancing with his high school friends and was known as Fatal Attraction. Well-rounded doesn’t begin to describe them: they were overachievers, workaholics, perfectionists, realists, and enormously talented artist all rolled into one group.

Musically, Pistache lists everyone from Master G to Wyclef Jean as major influences. His own style and presentation borrows from kompa, reggae, hip hop and rara folkloric style. Pistache’s music is without a doubt hip hop based, but with already 18 years of musical development, everything from ‘70s kompa to modern hip hop has shaped him.

“In terms of business sense, marketing, and establishing an identity as a strong, independent, talented Haitian in a English dominated, American-run industry, I definitely have a great deal of admiration for Wyclef,” says Pistache.

Pistache has welcomed every challenge presented to him during his formative years, and he considers himself a life-long learner. Formal training has been a daily ritual for this tireless young man. He has shone during, dance, acting, producing/engineering, and educational skills; grabbing the spotlight every time he expressed himself through his talents.
