No Hype, Just Facts!
It seems there are very few artists you come across nowadays as having “that thing”. The thing that I’m speaking of has what few rappers these days posses: true charisma, heart, posture, a brain of consciousness, skills, talent, relevance, substance, continuity, tone, oh yea and of course, FLO! I want to introduce you to an artist who, at first listen, is automatically and irrevocably known to assist with the revolution of the current urban music scene.
It all began in Detroit, Michigan at the specific location of downtown’s Hutzle Hospital where on March 14th of ’87 bore of a peculiar people, parents, Sabrina Scott and Darren Dale Clay begot not only a son but definite leader of the new school. Meet world polished emcee, Pison Flo! (Pishon Flo to be exact!) So everyone wants to know the origin and name meaning? In Genesis 2:10-14 we read: "Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became FOUR RIVERHEADS. The name of the first is PISHON; it is the one which encompasses the whole land of HAVILAH, where there is gold. And the gold of that land is good. Bdellium, pearls and the onyx stone are there. Until now have researchers understood Eden’s exact locale. Look in the throat lining of young Pison Flo that’s where you also find the dwelling of the fine gems aforementioned. Its evident this kid’s glory stems from a holy place of perfection. The natural namesake river reference is what has allowed the adaptation to any form given, i.e. every beat spit upon. You could say he was heaven sent to dust away the rust in the game. Pison Flo does it for one dude only though! Flo; For the Lord Only. . . Why think they call ‘em Flo folk?! Not religion…Faith! Pison Flo is ya favorite rapper before you knew who he was. Remember the feeling you got when you heard the first dope punch line from whomever you’re bumping right now? It’s just like that, except this time it's something you’ve NEVER heard! A combination of the lyricism of the Midwest, the swag of the south and the knowledge of ya wise Uncle Chuck! Lol. Flo maybe the next big thing in Hip-Hop, but he's more concerned with being the next guiding voice for his lost generation, beyond the fame of the 'Rap Game". Follow the River of Pison down a long bright tunnel that leads to the death of your flesh and the birth of your spirit!!! One half of the HardHead Flo Entertainment super group the "DopeBoyz, Flo is the 90's MC all over again. But don't get it twisted he HardHeaded to the watered down game of your usual Christian rapper and goes against the grain when it comes to the lewd and diluted Hip-Hop you hear on the radio! That sound you’ve been lookin' for is right HERE! When it comes to musical influences P. reps hard for the “D” while circling the nation with hometown greats Eminem and Common, dirty southerner Lil’ Wayne, Chi-town hi-fliers Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco, New Yorkers Nas and Jay and fellow ATL-iens Outkast. As a former student of “the game” and Oral Roberts University P.Flo is no dummy and his lyrical wordsmith ability continually proves this. It was in college that the title of “rapper” was fully accepted at the regional popularity of his word forming for a recorded Valentine’s Day gift. From this moment forth, his superior brand of music was officially launched. Don’t think that his stay 10+ year stay in Decatur Georgia’s Eastside didn’t also continue to groom the viscosity of his poetic super fluidity.
For some it’s hard to believe that a revamping of present day music content is close at hand. When asked about the current state of the music industry he dwells in, Flo answers, “People are doing stuff for the sake of entertainment (most of which holds no value), there’s lack of face of when it comes to sanctification. Live music is lost to technology fads and dance music; where an artist's first hit is molded to be fake. Bring back to the surface the realness, dope live music!” Flo is proud to be exactly what God created, himself, the bridge of the gap between Christian and World music. A desire of his is for fellow artists, fans and everyday listeners to see in them some of him. Hopes of becoming the new standard in music and showing folks you can be all of You lines his mind with inspiring the Jay-Z’s and Kanye’s to speak on things never yet touched upon. Knowing change comes from the inside out; Pison Flo is demonstrating the obvious change to meet his goals. It’s also a dream of his to one day open up an interactive entertainment industry-based school to give others in the same position readily available opportunities previously withheld. Promises of a new album “Hello Fiends” to be released later this year has sparked fanfare everywhere and is to come complete with short film “A Day in The Life of a Fiend”. Being that everyone is a fiend for something, this tie-in will bring further existence to your and others addiction habit, his being The Pop up Top. The Pre-Warm Up is DubSack – the mixtape released by DJ Spesh K, already infiltrating the streets and prepping the world for the heavy-hitting release of Hello Fiends. It’s his twisted fly fun approach to “positive” storytelling music that makes his marketable appeal unlimited. One listen to underground score “Checking In” and you’ll understand why there’s absolutely no reason this emcee isn’t top bound. The backing of Atlantic Records producer KANEBEATZ couldn’t hurt one bit either. Expect collaborations with AYO of SoundSpeed, MelloDramatic of YoungKings, I.O., Marcreal of Apache Cafe, and MoJoSwagger among others. Because Pison Flo is an artist with something to say worth listening to you can usually catch him weekly all over Atlanta performing his material in live music houses alike the D’Jangos Gypsy Saloon, the Apache Café, on college campuses and in various showcases. He says to lookout for an ATL Tour with Fusion The Band including a mixtape featuring Daniel Black, Priscilla Pol’et and Sam Drew, containing varied genres of Jazz, Go-Go, House and Party band musiques. Accompanying an album release will be the touring of surrounding Atlanta hot hubs. They plan to be met by an audience of black, white, all in-between and all rocking-out! It’s during tour stops and throughout life on this Earth that Pison aims to brighten lights for the building up of people mentally as well as spiritually. The sharpening of talents at studios home to DJ Toomp, Grand Hustle and Stankonia, lets on to one main thing, this guy is not messing around! At present time to his acting credits are several Tyler Perry Productions, BET’s upcoming SomeBodies and a forthcoming animated series. With an acting resume already impeccable, it’s only for certain you’ll be witnessing more TV and film projects hitting big screens near you soon! Currently being courted with management offers from several agencies including area based contender Strong Arm Management and working on a bevy of recording projects soon to make their way to the uppermost parts of your eardrum, Pison Flo is keeping busy to bless the world with gifts yet unseen.
