Ahhhh, Colorado. When I think of Colorado four things come to mind: snow, Coors, "Mork & Mindy" and now, Pinhaed Circus. This powerhouse trio was born in 1988, in front of Scooter's halfpipe where all the kids flocked to skate, ride BMX bikes and drink malt liquor. Fronted by the infamous Jimmy Pinhead (aka Scooter) wailing on the guitar and plenty of whining, Trelvis on the 4 string bass plus some whimpering, and let's not forget Otis the Spicy Italian on skins. Theses boys have come along way since blowing up their van in Waco, Texas five years ago.

The Band started as FSK (The Flinstone Kids) when Trelvis, Scooter and their first drummer Forrest where still in junior high school. They impressed friends and annoyed nieghbors by playing any party that would have 'em. Slowly but surely, the band's songs began to improve. They changed their name many times before agreeing on the sensible Pinhead Circus. The band attempted to tour in 1993 and only got as far as Waco, Texas before the real fun started. The police and fire department arrived to greet the band as their van was going up in a puff of smoke. While watching their only form of transportation burn, Scooter rolled over a nest of fire ants, Trelvis suffered smoke inhalation and a broken heart (it was his van that blew up), and Forrest tried to beat up the van. Chalking this one up to experience, these guys weren't about to let a little incident like this get in the way of music.

.Unfortunately Forrest had other ideas, and left to pursue other musical avenues. This made the band sad, but they soon got over it when a Spicy Italian named Otis came into the picture and brought his drums with him. These and other traumatic experiences helped mold the Pinhead Circus sound into what it is today. Pinhead Circus are loud, energetic and melodic punk rockers. Suave and sophisticated, yet they love their malt liquor. Following the relaese of thier debut 7" and full length CD/LP on Black Plastic Records (which just happens to be run by Trelvis) Pinhead Circus found themselves from playing parties to playing with bands such as Lagwagon, the Vandals,No Use For A NAme, and Youth Brigade. After more touring attempts and the release of a split single with the Nobodys, on Soda Jerk Records, Pinhead Circus caught the attention of punk rock pioneers BYO Records. BYO Records realized that this band is what punk rock is all about and they had to have them as part of the BYO family. This made Scooter, Trelvis and Otis very happy. The fiery inferno of their van is now a distant memory.

If you thought punk rock has gotten safe and glossed over in the nineties, think again. "Detailed Instructions for the Self Involved" is Pinhead Circus' mighty BYO Records debut, which rocks like none other. It's raw, rough, load. proud and punk! From opening thunder of the title cut to the rowdy melodies of "Retinally Challenged", "Three", "Six Down" and "Petty Motivation" this record is destined to be a punk rock classic for generations of punk fans past, present and future. Dont miss the incredible live shenanigans of self-proffesed clowns when the Pinhead Circus comes to town! (Editors Note: Pinhead Circus will never come to your town anymore.)
