Biography



PILLOW KILLZ was founded by the two brothers Shorty & Captain as well as Christoph already in 1987. Three years later Michi joined the band as an additional guitarist who took on the vocals when the third demo tape „More with less“ was released.



The many good reviews for the previous demo tapes and CDs that the band has meanwhile received are a clear indication for the high quality of their production. Metal expert G�tz K�hnemund praised the “bright melodies” and “polished harmonies” in ROCK HARD magazine. The HAMMER magazine complimented Pillow Killz on their “timely produced modern sound gimmicks.” Even the author of a Japanese magazine named “BURRN!” was thrilled by the sound of the band, not to mention the many different radio interviews and publications in the press in Germany due to the large number of concerts.



Playing live has always been another thing that gained Pillow Killz popularity and appreciation. They played (and won) several contests, e.g. the Green World Contest in Cafe Americano, Geldern; and their taking part in various events in the Netherlands has made their number of fans constantly increase. Two gigs always to mention in the bands live-history certainly is the support of Blind Guardian in the Kufa, Krefeld and the Fantasymetalfest in Czech Republic.



The strange name of the band was created by our guitar player Christoph quite accidentally, Somewhen in the late 80s he knocked on the door of the owner of our practice room. By the way, the man grows mushrooms - witch is "Pilze" in German - instead of him his beautiful daughter opened the door and Christoph was more than starled. Gasping for breath he tried to speak: "One PILO KILZE, please!" of course wanting to say one Kilo Pilze (remember: mushrooms!). The Name was born from his slip of the tongue. Later we changed PILO KILZ into PILLOW KILLZ. Thats the story about our name.
