Pilaseca formed in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato Mexico in 1999, mixing Funk and Hip-Hop rhythms. That same year they recorded their first album, Humo de Cigarro (Cigarette Smoke), which includes ten songs that combine various musical styles and experiment with guest musicians.
In 2001 they began to work on songs for their second album, which shows the evolution of their style and creates a fusion of Hip-Hop, Funk, House, and electronic music.
In 2002 they recorded their second album, Afrodisiaco (Aphrodisiac), with the producer Francis Buckley (allmusic.com) who captured the live, funky sound of the band.
All recordings were done in the recording studio HIT RECORDS (San Miguel de Allende) and mastering in Bernie Grundman Studios (Hollywood California).



Afrodisiaco is the title of Pilaseca's second album.
It contains 11 songs that reflect the band's work of one year combine different influences like funk, hip hop and house.



Francis Buckley, who has worked with artists like Alanis Morrisette, Quince Jones, Aerosmith, among others, engineered and produced this album. He successfully captured and molded the energy of the band which gives the album groove and soul. All recordings were done in the recording studio HIT RECORDS
With the release of Afrodisiaco the band started to get more gigs and show inside the whole country.
The festival Northgate in College Station TX was the first opportunity for the band to play in the USA. They had a non expected success and from that point Pilaseca begun to play more and more in north america.
The most important shows in the USA:
The Roxy Theater, The Jack Daniel's latin fest (Chicago)
The Whiskey A go go, South by South West in Austin TX.
In Mexico the band shared shows with famous bands like Los Amigos Invisibles, Kinky, Benny, Plastilina Mosh, Caifanes, Fobia, among others.
And played ate the most important venues, stages and shows like Vive Latino Fest, Cumbre Tajin Fesival, Lunario del Auditorio Nal Mexico City, Teatro Metropolitan, Foro Sol, etc.
In 2010 started to make new songs and to record the 3th album called "Mi suerte cambio". An album with 12 songs.
This new material turned into the latin mood with some pop/hip hop/rap/ electronic taste.
The producer? Thom Russo. Russo is a multi-grammy award winner and known for his work with a big list of great artist like Audioslave, Macy Gray, Alejandro Sanz, Juanes, Michael Jackson, Mana, etc
