PIGNATION 1997-2008

DUE TO SHITLOADS OF CHANGES REGARDING THE WHOLE BAND LINEUP WE DECIDED TO QUIT, THANKS DUDES AND DUDETTES FOR ALL THE SHWEET TALKING AND ALL THE SHITTALKING, NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT YOU, IT MATTERS THAT THEY ACTUALLY TALK ABOUT YOU! WE LOVE YOU.

PIGNATION was founded in September 1997 by Andrew Szpirko (dr, voc), P.H. Holweg (bass) and Peter Susik (git, voc) in Pabianice, Poland. After series of personal and stylistic changes, band became a five piece experimental metalic hardcore hybrid. Line up, which was formed during PIGNATION's existence, has never been so strong and promising before. Band was brought to life by: Jakob Murawski (voc), Peter Susik (git), Dan Kosman (git), P.H. Holweg (bass), Radek Gladkiewitz (dr).

In the beginnig of the year 1999, PIGNATION's debut album was released on DSM Records (pol) - it was 7"EP split with japanese powerviolence act Su19B, which had far-reaching repercussions in Polish underground scene. During its existence, band recorded two full-lengths - You Would Hate To Know (2000), released on 12"LP by Putrid Filth Conspiracy Records (swe) and on CD by Shing Records (pol) and Devastating Life Scheme (2002) released on american label Deep Six Records. Both albums gather positive reviews as well in independent press like Maximum Rock 'n Roll or Short, Fast + Loud and official magazines like Terrorizer Magazine or Metal Maniacs. In the meantime, PIGNATION recorded few songs on split CD with metalcore act INFLX, which was released on Shing Records. Just before the mentioned mini CD record session, Martin Klys, who plays the bass in thrashcore act Shackled Down at the moment, left the band. One year later, after the record session for Deep Six Records, a new guitarist - Dan Kosman - joined the band and PIGNATION, with a stronger line up, set off on European Tour and gather lot of affirmative feedback. Late Fall of 2002, vocalist Peter Szambelan (Blood Is The Harvest / 150 Watts) left the band and Robert Wejder took his place. After playing few shows and a mini tour with french brutal death metal band - Inhumate, Robert left the band and joined new metalcore act King Of The Hill. PIGNATION were looking for a new vocalist through several months and finally found him in the turn of 2004 / 2005. Jakob Murawski - very promising and well known of achievments in Solitary and In Spite Of, seemed to fit band the best, so PIGNATION started working with him on brand new, much more experimental than before, material, searching for their path. Winter 2006 brought some new line up changes - Andrew Szpirko decided to leave the band and Radek Gladkiewitz (King Of The Hill) took his place.

Through all these years of activity, PIGNATION have played a lot of shows in Poland and foreign countries with: DRI (usa), Macabre (usa), Municipal Waste (usa), Holier Than Thou? (usa), Crowpath (swe), Submerge (fra), Rot (bra), Seein' Red (nl), Antigama (pol), Third Degree (pol) and many, many more.

By now, PIGNATION are still working on their brand new album and preparing themselves to prove their value as a live act.
