"And I think of you" (E Penso a te) is the title of a Italian song composed in 1970 by Lucio Battisti lyrics by Mogol, two famous italian songwriter. Initially published in the interpretation of Bruno Lauzi , was seized upon by many other artists. The text tells the nostalgic thinking toward a woman does not exist, playing on the contrast between the memory of an event ended without result and the thought of what she might be doing at that moment. The music and the singing, highlights the hesitation of the protagonist in the presence of the woman (the initial plan) and the explosion of the feeling of nostalgia in his absence (crescendo). The emotional effect is amplified by the repetition of the phrase and think of you and the final chorus, with a decreasing final in which all the instruments fall silent fade, leaving only his voice.
The text of the song was born in 19 minutes during a car trip on the Milan-Como where Mogol wrote the text almost improvising while Lucio Battisti (according to some versions, while he was driving, according to other while sitting in the seat next to the driver ) humming the melody line.
