Phyler are Christoph J. and Lorenz R. Being close friends since childhood days the two both share the same musical background. In 1998 they visited their first psychedelic trance parties in Hamburg, Germany and were immediately fascinated by psytrance. Numerous parties followed that more and more sparked their interest in electronic music and 4/4 beats. Inspired by these festivals and indoor events they wanted to make a contribution to the scene. Initially they started djing in 2001, but soon conceptions for own tracks awoke and they felt the urge to unleash their own ideas. Consequently they made their first steps in music production in 2002 – though at the outset in a rather poor technical quality.
By purchasing higher value hardware and applicable production software they laid the foundation for future improvement and the adequate realization of their ideas. They acquired more professional production techniques and soon first satisfactory results were made.

In 2005 they were asked by a friend to performe live on a small party in Hamburg. Combining nearly all track they had made in the last 3 years Christoph and Lorenz arranged a 2 hour live set. Still being not really confident about their live set's quality, the two were amazed by the positive feedback and were offered several gigs in Hamburg and Kiel. With new improved tracks they played various live sets in Germany on numerous events such as the Psychedelic Circus Festival, the Intact Expanda, one of Hamburgs biggest indoor events, and the Shambala Open Air, building up a reputation in the local psytrance community.

During the last few years Phyler increasingly broadened their horizon and developed a taste for slower Electro, Progressive House and Minimal tunes. Inspired by this style and by the urge to stay creative and avoid standstill the style of Phyler has significantly changed. Their sound has slowed down to a range between 128 to 132 bpm and has been reduced to minimal electronic music, defined by crispy, astite drum grooves and a more experimental, creative use of sounds and effects and the reaction of the crowd at their recent gigs beared them in their development.
This year Phyler look forward to present their brand new live set to the party crowd. They recently have produced several new kick-ass tunes to rock dancefloors this winter.

Also check out their tunes on v.a. Config.this (Planet BEN Rec). The first EP "Epic" on Planet BEN Records will follow soon. So stay tuned mates - there are a lot more things to come by the two!
