PHILL MOST CHILL

Phill Most's first record came out way back in 1988 under the name Phill Most Chill- a three song EP featuring "On Tempo Jack" (this 12" was reissued recently, but the almost impossibly rare original copies have fetched up to $650, due mostly to the "random rap" craze that has taken hold in the last few years).

Phill stayed busy during the 90's writing articles for various hip hop publications, selling beats to many of the industry's top rap producers, running the World Of Beats website, producing a handful of indy records and putting out a slew of rare groove / break mixtapes and CDs.

In recent years Phill has gone back to his first love, which is rhyming. "I never stopped writing rhymes", he says, "I just stopped rapping. So I've had to train myself back into shape, so to speak, but I just enjoy doing it. So I'll keep doing it until I get tired of it, basically." Now going by the name Phill Most The Soulman, in 2004 Phill did the unofficial "The Lo-Fi Theory" lp and also the "Phill Most Slays The Hits" mixtape (find them if you can!) and will be coming with the official "The Lo-Fi Theory" EP in early 2006 on Puma Strut / World Of Beats.

Also, in 2005 Phill launched his World Of Beats record label, setting it off with the debut release from Pittsburgh's G.U.N, "The Greedy Ultimate EP". Coming in 2006 will be the debut solo record by Jacksonville, Florida wunderkind Willie Evans Jr. (from the group Asamov), another G.U.N record and some more Phill Most music (new stuff and also old unreleased stuff). Also look for Phill to appear on upcoming records by Paul Nice and People Under The Stairs (PUTS). We stays busy, mane!
