The Perennials formed in 2005 after various members' short-lived stints in a bunch of local bands, including the Click Five, Furvis, Disaster Strikes, Dead Ellington, the Black Freighter and Slick Pig.
We played our first show in April of 2006, then soldiered through an endless parade of lineup changes and botched recording sessions for years. Finally (through the saintly patience of our friends at Tactical Sound Studios), we recorded a six-song, over-a-year-in-the-making massive dramatic ordeal of a record. We never got the resources together to give it a proper release.
Refusing to let a little thing like having no record out weaken our resolve to be the biggest band in the world, we busted our asses booking and playing way too many shows. We played all over the East Coast, with bands like the Thermals, A Place to Bury Strangers, the Avengers, Japanther, the Chinese Stars, New Model Army, the Vivian Girls, the Oxford Collapse, Read Yellow, Deer Tick, the World/Inferno Friendship Society and a million others.
The band is defunct now, but all the members are still active in a number of other projects, regarding which we will continue to update this page.
