The members of People Like You are Adrienne Dennehy, the lead singer, composer & lyricist and Manuel Moutier, composer & arranger.
Adrienne's voice was initially trained at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin. She then moved on to a jazz & blues music school in Paris and more recently had her voice trained by François Valade. She first featured on Concorde Music Club's album 'Stereo Fictions' in 2002 with the song "Silence".
Manuel, who has an addiction to vintage synthesisers and has been composing for many years, has always been oriented to pop music. His fist vinyl EP with Moonraker "Le temps qui défile", came out in 2000 from Pro-Zak Traxx.
In 2002 Manuel & Adrienne met and realised quickly that their respective talents & interests in music were highly compatible.
After working for several months together, they were quickly snapped up by Pschent (Stéphane Pompougnac, Charles Schillings, Emmanuel Santarromana). The group was called People Like You, as was their first single, a simple, catchy and modern pop song with a powerful beat. The song was played on many National French radio stations and the video (directed by People Like You) had airplay on French TV: M6, Fun TV, MCM and MTV.
People Like You went on tour all over France during the summer of 2004. The group has also released remixes for Charles Schillings, Caroline Nin and Marc Almond.
Since then People Like You have been working on a selection of songs for their album (all the songs are in English). Recently this album was recorded in Paris with the collaboration of Goh Hotoda and Philippe Saisse.
Goh Hotoda, the producer and sound engineer, travelled from Japan to work with People Like You. Goh has produced and mixed for a multitude of stars in the past such as Madonna, Janet Jackson, Prince, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Jean-Michel Jarre, to name but a few. He has also received some of the most prestigious awards of the profession.
Philippe Saisse travelled from New York to record all the piano, keyboard, Rhodes and clavinet work, and came up with some great arrangement ideas that added a touch of magic to the project. His long career is made of great collaborations with many well known artists. He has played keyboards for The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, The B-52's, Chaka Khan, Tina Turner, Rod Stewart, Al Di Meola, Al Jarreau, Faudel, Grace Jones, Brian Wilson, Luther Vandross, Claude Nougaro, Marcus Miller, Elton John, Chic and many more. He has also worked as a composer and co-music director. Philippe & Goh have often worked together in the past and it is obvious that their combined talents give great results.
The single 'Teens of the 80's hit the clubs & French radio stations in late 2006 and People Like You's debut album has just been released and is available in French music stores. The album is available online worldwide.
