Leonard Cochrane aka Lil Peedy,Peedy Wheatstraw is a part of the new generation of hip hop to emerge from the Dirty South. He hails from the streets of Charlotte, North Carolina.



Lil Peedy grew up with his 3 sisters and his mother and father. He was surrounded by music at a very young age. His mother (who is now deceased) sang in her church choir every Sunday and always filled their home with that good down home gospel. This is where Lil Peedy’s interest in music and his desire for the spotlight developed.



For the past 11 years Lil Peedy’s been putting it down on the lyrical front and has gained respect from many in his hood. He pulls his inspiration from one of his favorite artist, Tupac Shakur and favors the bounce of the southern hit-makers like David Banner and 8Ball and MJG. Lil Peedy plans to make a name for himself and show off his own abilities.



Lil Peedy’s been recording in the studio and grinding for the last 2 years, waiting for a breakthrough. He writes about what he feels, what he’s done and what he plans to do. There’s no gangsta or grimy undertones in his songs, just lyrics to make you think and understand the man behind the mic. He describes his sound as “feel good” music. The type of hip hop that can take you to that place you wanna go. Lil Peedy’s as real and they come in this rap game and he plans to turn up the heat. He’s a natural on the mic and his lyrical skills and in his delivery is only getting better.



With the help of a close friend, Poundcake (Money Earnin, Mt Vernon), Lil Peedy was introduced to a NY producer by the name of Splash. After a brief conversation and a phone audition, Splash immediately knew there was potential for big things in Lil Peedy. Splash wasted no time and told Lil Peedy to come to New York. Splash signed him to his production company (Splash Entertainment Inc.) and began putting together a master plan to introduce him to the “industry”, the rest is about to be written into history.
