Peeda est né à Monrovia, capitale du Libéria, pays anglophone. Il est de l'ethnie des Grébo. Son père était pasteur. C'est dans les églises qu'il a pris conscience de la puissance de la voix et des émotions qu'elle porte. Les chanteurs qu'il admire sont Otis Reddings, All Green, Marvin Gaye. En l'écoutant, on pense aussi à R'Kelly.
Peeda was born and raised in Monrovia, capital of Liberia, english speaking country. He's from the Grebo ethnic group. His father's a pastor. In church, he learns how to translate emotions into notes of music and follows his father steps, singing out the most vibrating religious messages, and quickly becomes head of his Choral. His musical infuences go from Otis Reddings, All Green to Marvin Gaye. Peeda also sometimes reminds you of R'Kelly.
C'est grâce à la beauté de sa voix et à ses talents de footballeur qu'il obtient les bourses nécessaires à sa scolarité à Monrovia. Il est appelé en équipe nationale, il rencontre un joueur du nom de Georges Weah. Thanks to a powerfull voice and skills as a football player, Peeda is granted scholarships necessary to a secondary education in Monrovia. Drafted in Liberia's football national team, his path crosses the one of a player known as Georges Weah.
En 1993 : il arrive en France grâce au foot, il joue à Châteauroux et à Montluçon. La vie en décide autrement. à cause d'une blessure, il doit arrêter. En 1995, il s'installe à Boulogne-Billancourt. Peeda aime dire : « le foot est ma passion, mais j'ai été choisi par la musique. »
In 1993 : he's drafted to the french football team of Châteauroux and then joins Montluçon. But life has a different destiny for him.After a severe injury, Peeda must resign. In 1995, he settles down in Boulogne-Billancourt. Peeda likes to say : « football is my passion, but I was chosen by music. »
Près de Paris, sa route croise celle du groupe T. S. N. : « Tout Simplement Noir ». C'est avec Julien qu'il écrit les paroles de la chanson « Sans Papiers ». Peeda donne des cours de chant Il crée une chorale gospel : 60 chanteurs et 4 musiciens : « God's Army», il compose les chansons de son répertoire. La boucle est bouclée, Peeda retrouve les chants de son enfance
Next to Paris, he crosses roads with the musical group T. S. N. : « Tout Simplement Noir (Simply Black)». With Julien they write the lyrics of a song « Sans Papiers (Illegal Immigrant)». Peeda starts giving singing lessons He creates a gospel choral of 60 singers and 4 musicians : « God's Army». He composes songs of his own. The curl is fastened, Peeda gets back to songs of his childhood
Il rencontre Passi, qui l'invite en 2001 à chanter sur deux titres de la compilation « Dis l'Heure 2 Rimes » : « Réveille-toi », et « Le Jour J. » qu'il chante en duo avec Jimmy Sissoko.
He then meets with the french rap singer Passi, that offers him to participate to two tracks of the album « Dis l'Heure 2 Rimes » to be released in 2002 : They record « Réveille-toi » and « Le Jour J » in duet with french artist Jimmy Sissoko.
Mais il a tant à dire, trop de musiques, d'émotions., Peeda écrit son premier album.en français et en anglais. : KEEP DREAMIN'.
Il y parle de son enfance, « I was alone », de la guerre qui a ensanglanté le Libéria, « War », des difficultés d'une intégration en France, « Sans Papiers ». Peeda ne lâche rien, il avance en chantant ses douleurs et ses espoirs, « Mon Espoir », « J'attends ». Il chante aussi l'amour rencontré et la joie de vivre, « Don't make me cry », « Life is beautiful ».
But Peeda has so many stories and emotions to share that he decides to record a full solo album in french and english : KEEP DREAMIN'.
He talks about his childhood in « I was alone », the war that tore apart Liberia in « War », the difficulties of his incorporation to the French society in « Sans Papiers ». Peeda never gives up, and wants to confront his existence by singing his pain and hope in « Mon Espoir » and « J'attends ». He also shares his love experience and the happiness of being alive in « Don't make me cry » and « Life is beautiful ».
