"BEWARE OF THE BLUE FLAME"

PC definitely doesn't stand for politically correct. Or personal computer, or any of those other common phrases associated with the letters, though this PC could very well become a household name. No, this PC says his name is street terminology for money. And if he has his way, PC's paper chase won't be over until he straight grabs the platinum.



"I'm doing this, not trying to do this," says the thoughtful Bronx-born mic bomber. "I feel like everybody's given a talent; it's your job to find yours. Van Gogh and Picasso were great painters. You got your great lawyers -- look at Johnny Cochran. If I felt I couldn't sell records, I wouldn't do this. If more that five people say I'm no good, I would literally stop."



Since he was a 7-year-old shorty terrorizing the streets of the Boogie Down, PC says he's always been drawn to his borough's legacy to the world. He recalls hot days of battles in the park where he was the "young dude;" of banging on tables in the school lunch room. PC is fortunate to come up during the time when he could appreciate both the old school and the new. "Everybody creates me," he explains. Describing his style as diverse, PC maintains that "you're not a rapper if you can't switch your style up."



Like any artist, PC has a method to his work. He says he doesn't immediately dive right into a track, but sits with it and "mentally writes." Like a reporter, he begins by taking notes, and then hones in on one word which sets the mood for the track. And then, "I spill," PC notes. "I do that for all songs. Then it's go to the drawing board and start something else."



The result is mature, lyrical storylines backed up with fanciful, smooth arrangements. Songs like 'Friday Night Fever,' a duet with R&B phenom Mo Isaac, takes you on a night on the town from the shower to rubbing up on females in the club. 'Down To My Last' is self-described as anybody who makes nothing into something. It's about doing what you have to do to get what you need, and 'Committed' is self-explanatory. For anybody your boyfriend, anyone you call your friends -- can you trust these people? It's all about trust.



As for his contribution to the game, PC awaits a return to true hip-hop. To original _expression. "New York rap is saturated," he muses. "Everybody's doing the same thing. The guys who are imitators, they're actually smart, but they won't admit it. The harder road is being an original. But never fear -- just like you had clogs, bell bottoms and big flowers on shirts, the same thing is going to happen with the music. It's rotating right back to where it started."



PC's future plans include a deal, business ventures and total world domination. "I'm trying to make everybody who don't know me, know me. And I don't want to be just known. Heard. From a lyrical standpoint, they're going to look at me with different eyes."
