Pawilon
Polish music group, the founder and only reprezentant - both in Poland and overseas - of musi style called rockbeaty, which stands for a mix of rock, funk, disco and folk, where guitar riffs meet broken beats and rhytms accompanied by tricky, wise and ironic lyrics. Characteristic to Pawilon's music is also two leading singers working their vocals simultanously at almost all times. Pawilon creates loafs of positive energy on stage, spreading good mood to all of you tender to sound, colour, words and tickle.
Past
Pawilon members became friends when started studying and sharing flat in Tricity (polish Trojmiasto consisting of Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia) in the early 2000's. The group started activity in 2005, performing more than 60 gigs, winning several local music contests and festivals. After having built a significant fan base with their gigs and receiving supporting reviews on their performances in local media Pawilon started recording their songs. In March 2006 first EP „ELO" was released, followed by Pawilon winning first prize on „Union of Rock" festiwal in Wegorzewo (PL). In 2007 Pawilon's song „Blisko" was published by very prestigeous Polish Radio Channel 3 on its compilation titled „Offensywa". Another Pawilon's song „Elf" was included in „Offensywa 2" later that year. Year 2008 brought the release of first LP „Retromantik", premiere of which was broadcasted live from Papryka music club in Sopot by Channel 3 of Polish Radio. Release of debut LP was supported by numerous gigs, on of which was a concert at A. Osiecka studio of Polish Radio Program 3 broadcasted live countrywide. Year 2009 was time of further performing and recording songs included on second album titled „Moda na Sukces", released in February 2010. Frankly said, the first LP received better reviews and publicity than the second one, though the band liked the latter better. Funny thing, but apparently most of the bands undergo a „secondo-album-syndrome" nowadays
present and future
Since the release of second album the Pawilons are performing (from time to time), babysitting their own children plus doing their best to give everyday consolation to their wifes (constantly) and – of course - working on new songs by searching new sounds and energy to continue music-is-mostly-fun attitude characteristic to Pawilon (in the meantime). Release of new EP is planned for autumn 2011, along with plenty gigs, including several stadium performances during the EURO2012 championship in Poland.
