Listening to the musical styling of Paulis Sanchéz takes you to a new facet of worship that is seasoned with a rich blend of urban soul and Latin praise. Fresh out of the studio with her magnetic hook heavy debut album “Seguro En Ti”, Paulis Sanchéz introduces a powerfully effective blend of black gospel music and Spanish vocal performance that will compel you to embrace a novel stylistic genre within Latin Christian music.

Raised in the rural suburbs of Cali, Colombia, Sanchéz enjoyed the fruits of a large family headed by Jesus and Gloria Sanchéz. During a revival service, at the age of 8, Paulis and her mother dedicated their lives to the Lord. Her ministerial anointing extended throughout her home where her entire family eventually accepted the Lord as their personal Savior.

Paulis Sanchéz relocated to Toronto, Canada during her teenage years and was heavily influenced by the rhythmic sounds of black gospel music in her new church home. “The music fusion of both gospel & Latin music is what truly influenced my singing & songwriting style”, reflects Sanchéz. “I admired artists like Fred Hammond, Israel Houghton, Kirk Franklin and Yolanda Adams. I have always embraced their ministry in every way”. Within the Latin Christian scene artists like Danilo Montero, Marcos Witt, Ingrid Rosario, Jesus Adrian Romero & Doris Machin always provided a foundation for her Hispanic worship roots and culture.

A political science graduate from Carleton University, Ms. Sanchéz possesses a wealth of tangible business experience in fiscal management and strategic thinking. Her measurable work within the Canadian investment sector was an ironic environment for her to share her faith and introduce her music ministry.

Paulis Sanchéz’s profile as a member of the Latin Christian community is recognized through her 15 years of active worship leading in Toronto, Canada. Currently, she serves as worship director under Pastor Orim M. Meikle for one of the largest churches in Toronto, Rhema Christian Ministries.

Ms. Sanchéz has connected spiritually with audiences throughout North and South America in countries such as Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Dominican Republic and the U.S. She has graced the stage with artists such as Danilo Montero, Pastor Cash Luna, Carlos Ortiz, Bani Muñoz, Ricardo Rodriquez, Rescate and Grupo Libertad. In addition, she has also ministered for celebrated events such as Missionfest, Global Prayer Day at the Toronto City Hall with Mayor David Miller and the “Open Air Crusade” in the city of Escuintla, Guatemala with over 6000 attendees.

The debut album “Seguro En Ti” features a captivating blend of Paulis’s musical character. Producer Roger Ryan (CeCe Winans, Kelly Price, Faith Evans) unfolds a romantic and worshipful quality with ballads such as “Solo A Ti” and “En Ti Jehovah”.

The Latin neo-soul vibe distinguishes Paulis with songs like “Eres Mi Gozo” and the Chicago stepping groove of “Quien”, which was produced by Maurice “Mo” Henderson (Lisa McClendon, Leon Timbo).

Dynamic duo, Sean Simmonds and Kelvin Wooten (Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott, Earth, Wind & Fire), set it off with the blazing urban pop track “Me Tiene”. The hard core black gospel sound cooked up by Maurice J. Rogers (Kurt Carr, Shirley Caesar) on hooks like “Nuevo Creacion”, “Grito al Señor” and title cut “Seguro En Ti”, feature a towering wall of vocals against a thumping live band that will have you dancing in the aisles!

“This project is not an ordinary album for me. The music is exactly who I am and the songwriting reflects an expression of my personal journey through some extreme points of emotional darkness and passionate private worship,” Sanchéz notes.

Paulis envisions herself changing and affecting the lives of people all over the world, adding to the rich legacy of Latin Christian music. This bilingual Toronto resident is connecting with Anglo and Spanish worshippers of every creed while leading them into a needed breadth of healing and personal intimacy with their Creator.
