This bio of mine was written for me.

At an age when most of us are trying to decide our favorite Crayon color Patty Powers was writing a completely different script for herself. She didn’t realize it, of course; she was, after all, only three years old. But as she’d sing Harry Nilsson’s Everybody’s Talkin’ to the delight of her modest audience (her mother and brother) a star was being born.

This homespun honing of her craft has paid off dividends, for in the ensuing years Patty has parlayed her natural gifts into a fine career as a recording artist. Her vocal performances on her current album, A Perfect Love, evoke the integrity of Ella Fitzgerald, the energy of Chaka Khan, and the honesty of Roberta Flack. They are the songs of a woman who has lived, loved, and lost. From the organic, world-music vibe of “Equinox” to the haunted passion of “Alone- The Remix” A Perfect Love is the perfect antidote for today’s watered-down, packaged-pop scene.

As a seasoned performer and singer of uncommon talent and versatility Patty is often tabbed to be the voice of a company’s brand, a point of pride for this small-town girl from Upstate New York. The veteran session singer’s resume is vast and varied, with several national credits including voice work for the General Motors Company, Kroger Foods, and Raymour & Flanigan. She has also been a featured performer on the soundtrack for the documentary Songs of Freedom, as well as the independent film Getting Personal.

Patty’s love for singing is eclipsed only by her appreciation for others who create music at the highest level. This is why if you were to ask her about moments of extraordinary bliss and gratitude, she would include in the conversation performing live with Steve Gadd and Tony Levin. (Ed. note: the author of this bio witnessed this performance and Ms. Powers, who sang with incredible, uplifting passion and soul, more than held her own in such esteemed company.) When she’s not doing her thing on stage with rock legends Patty finds joy in singing with her devoted husband, David, an accomplished pianist in his own right.

Here's what producers and engineers are saying.

“Patty is simply one of my favorite singers.First in the studio, as a producer she works flawlessly for me.perfect pitch.distinctive, just beautiful. "As an Engineer/Producer with over 25 years of experience, working in all styles of music and Post Production projects with many singers, Patty Powers comes highly recommended.

Patty has a very versatile sound, suited well for both lead and harmony vocals. Her silky, smooth textured sound and professional attitude are always a pleasure to work with."

Chief Audio Engineer

The Studios at Linden Oaks

"I've known Patty Powers for over a decade and she never ceases to amaze me with what she brings to the table whether in a studio or in a live setting. Always a competent artist, she adds just the right touch of sentimentality to an always perfect performance.

I recently heard her perform for a small intimate group with only a piano, and I was almost moved to tears. She has a way with a song that just seems honest and sincere, a quality too often missing in others.

I am proud to call her a friend and consistently pleased with her work no matter what the project or setting."

-Casey L Filiaci

Composer/Producer
