Pattern of Analysis originated with three members: Dr. Reality, Colin Adams, and GiX the Nightmare. What started off as an idea or infatuation back in 2000, and became a reality a short year later. Pattern of Analysis (PoA) started with GiX and Dr. Reality initially, but after a quick reference to a friend, Colin was soon in the line up.

"Back in the early days it was just Riggormortal, and then, Ambient Death. Then, Morgue, and then The Gates to Hell" - GiX

"I thought this band would've gone over like a lead baloon, but our weird approach to things has acually gotten us a fanbase." Colin

Without ever adopting a name the band had undergone many changes musically, and also with the line up. Dr. Reality, being a 41 year old Jazz musician at the time, had to come to a meeting point with two young aspiring metal heads. With the test of many different people and countless dissapointments, PoA had decided[at the time] on three members, and that a stripped down group would provide for the best music. With less people to add to the music it flowed like a river. Now, having solid group, PoA was ready to write.

After four solid off and on years of jamming, and practicing in a woodshop, PoA was ready to hit the public with something fresh and new. With the overabundance of knock off bands, cheap imitations, and terrible music that is today's norm, they decided to make music that is uniquely their own. When being interviewed on WJSE 102.7 by Scotty and Alex about metal, Dr.Reality replied," We are an alternative to altenative."

Well, we decided three people was not enough. We had gone through at least four to five bass players since this band's inception in 2001. Coincidently, our first choice was Arty back in 2001 or 2002, but for some reason he never really came around until early 2005. So, one legendary WiiRED show Gix introduced Arty to the rest of the band and that was history.

Cyril, on the other hand, was not added to the mix until December of 2005. He had been in Invocation since its formation, but as a bassist. PoA had always craved a second guitarist for harmonies, leads, and solos. Cyril was the only choice. Dr.Reality was very adamant on no more members. There didn't seem to be a reason to fix what wasn't broken. So, Arty, Gix, and Colin had practiced Cyril in secret to ambush the Doctor. Colin had Cyril go through our entire set with just him on guitars. He blew through it flawless and that was that. Although, he didn't have such an easy introduction. Cyril had to prove himself on his first show, headlining the Unity Festival @ the House of Blues in Atlantic City infront of a thousand or more people.

POA has built a solid reputation as being a great performing band. This is a band that started playing live in a cyber cafe every week to headlining a festival show @ House of Blues in Atlantic City.
