" The Taker "

I wrote the lyrics to this song in about a 20 minute period once the thought began. The idea of the song was about giving advice. This classic demo track of seems to be a crowd favorite and for that I'll do my best to keep it here.

" I Breathe In "

" I Breathe In " is just a demo cut but has the potential to be more. I wrote this song after a whole winter of playing the rhythm melody. I couldn't find the words for the story I felt until I blurted out " I Breathe In " and with that I wrote around the line to create the track we hear today. One shot in the studio just to get the track down for copyright. This was a requested tune to be put back up and so here it is.

" I Wound Up Here ".

I wrote this story one late evening around midnight. I had been in a contest and all sang country but me. I got 2nd place and realized that I was better than that and I set out to write a true country tune unlike the other competitors that claimed to be artist but didn't write. Sounds like an anger management thing but it is just away that a writer may fire him or herself up to do what is needed. After I wrote the story the next was to put the music with it and that was my first challenge, how does a country tab work. I figured it out by finding the note as I sang it. LeeAnne helped put the arrangement of the vocals together and with the help of Richard Rupert, bam! Richard played the instruments and helped back me up at the harmony points of the song. Green Valley Recording Studio in hughesville, Pa The great Richard Rupert owns and operates the studio. You need to record, Richard can help and he plays a mean guitar.

" How's Your Life Been "

I wrote this tune after I had seen my brother Barry that I hadn't seen for nearly 3 years and the first words I said to him were " How's Your Life Been". I again played around a music lick or melody for a long time and thought I'd never find the story but out it came after I had seen him and soon after I had created a great song. This song maybe of pain but it's point is finding out in the end that time need not heal but to be successful is bitter sweet.

" I'm Free "

Here is the first collaboration I ever started and finished. This song reflects many things for me and for what I believe. Never judge a book by it's cover, even though a good shower couldn't hurt some of the books out there. This speaks of what it takes on a mental part to get to the end result of the dream. The work , the pain and the success in the end. This demo mixed track needs to have a shorter version even though it came down from 7:20 originally. So much to say and maybe someday to an audiance if not just for you and the world to hear. Anyrate, we went to work one afternoon in the studio with the collective help of the great Richard Rupert @ GreenValleyRecordings in Hughesville, Pa He knows that guitar!!!! This became the end result from the data disc I have. Hope you enjoy it.

Coles contributions in the past from his power Lead Vocals of " Carving Cole "and his writings continue to fuel the hope for " Carving Cole " to rise again. This year is to be used to hone the writing skills and to get a country cd out. I have written so many new songs and ideas that run from rock to country and soon you'll be able to experience as well. Cross your fingers and always pray for me. You all are a great part of what I am doing and I hope to not let you down.

Keep Growing my friends " Cole "

Recognition:

The end of 2005 marked yet another era in Coles career and notoriety by placing him as a lyric finalist in the VH1 song of the year category. That meant that a collaboration rock ballad was created ( " Innocent " ) and became a top 60 song in the world. By no means does Cole take all the credit. His acknowledgement from Vh1 was for the song Innocent under the rock category. It was co-written involving 3 other writers. He also was recognized from VH1 for his individual effort of writing the lyrics to "The Taker".

Competition:

It is a great way that I measure how I am doing and performing. To win in a competitive field amongst all ages holds its own merits. In the past year or in 2007 I won the 8 county Twin Tier Superstar which allowed 18 years old and above the shot at working through 13 weeks of competition and ending up on stage at the Tioga County Fair in Pa. The prize was 2K and the right to say winner against age, gender and any music genre, what a great win!

In 2008 it opened up a new door to compete against proven winners and standing toe to toe in the International Karaoke Contest hosted by major bowling alleys I again took home the prize of $1,500 and 1st place.

In the month of July 2008 I won the local area in NY state in the 27th annual Colgate Country Showdown. I won 1st place and a $500 prize and then represented the area in Dansville, NY on the 30th of August 2008 in the state final. People like Garth Brooks, Martina McBride, LeAnn Rimes, John Micheal Mongomery, Neal McCoy and other greats in history of country music attempted this short cut to success. No, they all didn't win and some didn't get up out of the trenches so you can tell that competition is tough no matter what. The win also got me dead-smack-on the front page (July 21 issue ) of the prestigious Corning, New York " THE LEADER " paper. I competed and fell short in August as the runner up behind a trio group from mid eastern NY state.
