PATCHANKA

2012 will be the year for Danish balkan-ska-punk sensation: Patchanka! This summer the five young guys will tour in Denmar, Germany, Netherlands and other countries – the party is on!
This time the band from the Copenhagen underground will be bringing new songs from their second ful length album, which is being recorded right now and will be released in the Spring this year.
Throug out the years Patchanka has toured in 10 different countries around Europe playing close to 250 concerts and has gained a crowd that always comes back for more. The sound is distinct for Patchanka and carachterized by the rough punky edge mixed with good melodies with references to Manu Chao, The Clash and Gogol Bordello.
Patchanka has been contacted personally by Manu Chao and has played together with him and Radio Bemba Sound System, on two occasions. Manu Chao wrote the band a personal mail saying:
"From the heart thanks for the CD. Truly great songs and energy. I hope our paths will cross again in the future. Keep playing your music!".
And just recently the paths of Manu Chao and Patchanka crossed again, and they can both be found on the brand new cd compilation called "Musika Rebelde" produced by German acitivist collective Lucha Amada. Patchanka donated the track "Doc Boots" and all money made from the CD is donated to a water project in Chiapas, Mexico and an anti-racist European/African network.
