It’s not often that an artist comes along who is truly willing to speak their mind and expose their heart and soul warts and all. Parker-Jayne is one such artist. A rarity to be celebrated.

At eleven she went to a convent school, but found the strict uniforms and codes of conduct suffocating; an experience that would only emphasise her desire to create her own rules.

Growing up, Parker was immersed in both traditional African music and the rock-punk sounds of acts such as Blondie and Siouxsie Sioux and later acts such as; Fela Kuti, Sade, Tracy Chapman, Bob Marley, Kate Bush and Nirvana.

At the age of seven Parker-Jayne and her family moved from Nigera to East London. By the age of nine she had written her first song. Parker would fuse African percussion with heavy guitar melodies to create an acoustic/indie vibe rooted in soul/gospel.

Over the last 18 months Parker-Jayne has been performing live gigs in and around London in venues such as The Hope and Anchor, The Bull and Gate, Rhythm Factory and The Dublin Castle. She previously opened for Leela James with the Mitchell Brothers and performed a live set at the world famous BBC Maida Vale Studios for BBC Radio 1.

Parker is currently hard at work, writing new material and working hard on her debut album.
