Para La Gente is not your everyday hip hop. PLG is neither underground nor mainstream but “otherground,” taking the live band elements of soul, funk, jazz, rock and reggae and merging it with progressive yet accessible lyricism.



PLG’s MC, Cambio, is pushing his second solo album Or Does It Explode? featuring Stic.Man from Dead Prez, Joell Ortiz, and Mexico City’s Bocafloja. Para La Gente also frequently collaborates with Bocafloja, one of the biggest independent rappers in Latin America, as the house band for growing international collective QuilomboArte.



The quintet recently released a video for fresh single "Synth Love," a track that challenges the notion of "he/she is not your type" with a banging club beat. People Living Growing, PLG’s debut album, is a dynamic collection of classics packed full with guest artists, from the warm and jazzy “Leaders of the New New School” featuring Alex Lee to the chilled-out “Take It Back,” a hip hop golden age reminiscence with DJ Spinobi formerly of Ozomatli.



The upstart Central Coast band toured Mexico over the summer and has been steady swaying major city nightclubs, college campuses, political protest rallies, music festivals, down to all-ages shows at youth centers since its birth in 2003. PLG has shared the stage with The Pharcyde, Immortal Technique, Eternia, Gabriel Teodros, Crown City Rockers, and B-Side Players.



This year PLG will release new collaboration tracks with more up-and-coming artists and continue to rock shows across the West Coast.
