Paragon is the coming together of Rapsody the 6ft3 (aka Rap6) and Jiff. The two cousins from Battersea, south London produce hip hop music of the highest quality.

A 2 track demo in 1994 got Paragon (then known as Xtra Large) a guest spot on London's legendary rap group Son of Noise's second album 'Access Denied' in 1995. Xtra Large soon showed they could represent to the fullest, and hang with some of the best.

In 1997 Rap6 and Jiff, (now called Paragon to highlight the radical changes in lyrics and production), launched their own production company True Headz Musical Entertainment. They released a self produced CD entitled 'Street Sampler' in August 1998, containing 10 tracks on their own label NoDough! Records. The CD was well received and

complimented with good reviews from numerous quality publications.

Paragon guest spots on various singles were becoming infamous. Listen to the devastating collaboration with the emcee Ca$hino on a track called 'Many Of Us' (on his album 'Subterania'). This got heavy airplay nationally from the likes of Radio1, KissFM & Choice FM. Also this rowdy combination represented live with a now infamous appearance with Tim Westwood on his Radio 1 Rap Show.

Paragon released their independent debut single in August 2000, entitled 'Now they wanna know'.

The internet has been a great force in expanding the fan base of Paragon. BT's 'GetOutThere.Com' had Paragons MP3 version of the single 'Now They Wanna Know' as the number one hip-hop track for weeks. Talkin Loud Record's Giles Petterson, selected the track as his favourite on the website, from numerous musical genres. This led to numerous prizes and a second personal appearance on Radio One.

Public Enemy's frontman Chuck D selected Paragon as one of the top 10 artists on his American based site Rapstation.Com, which features over 1000 hip-hop acts. A leaked MP3 of the track 'Mr Angry' on the internet, got some serious heads talking about Paragon around the world. It also got rotation by Big Ted & Shorty Blitz on KissFM. Subsequently another Westwood Radio1 appearance and some blazing freestyles increased the heat further.

Paragon released the vinyl E.P 'Calm Before The Storm' in August 2002 on limited white label. 4 Blazin tracks showcasing the crews diversity. Paragon had national support for this in the first 2 weeks! Support from BBC 1Xtra, Radio1, KissFM, XFM, all major club DJs and pirate radio stations. All copies sold out very quickly, and acted as a great taster for the upcoming album. As Blues & Soul Magazine said, .if this is supposed to be the calm before the upcoming storm, get ready to have your heads blown off when the bad weather hits

2003 saw Paragon finishing of their long awaited album The Long Road, and hitting the streets. From clubs, to music festivals, and the Notting Hill Carnival. Paragons live show needs to be seen to be believed. For the first time the UK has a genuine hiphop act, devoid of the banal stereotypes now associated with the scene. An album full of emotion, personality, knowledge and humour. Accompanied by the hottest beats to come out of the gritty urban streets of London. Featuring Finale from Detroit, USA, and UK hotshots like Tommy Evans (YNR), Assavior (YNR), Ca$hino (NDT), DBlack (NDT), Esta, Ms Davies and Toby Thompson.

August 2003 saw Paragon hitting the road to build their now awesome live reputation.

Their club banger Anthem was released in November 2003 and received much support from local and national radio. The accompanying video sat strong on the music tv station

Channel-Us most requested chart. By now the streets were starting to scream Paragons name whenever they were asked whos hot?. Many music executives were beginning to take note, especially as Paragons own label NoDough had just received a worldwide distribution deal!

Loads of performances and radio appearances kicked of 2004. Paragon released a limited edition version of The Long Road to critical acclaim. Loads of brilliant reviews from respected publications only added to the heat Paragon received from the streets. DJ Magazine said it may have been a long road, but these dudes have most definitely arrived. Their album launch party at The Scala, London was completely sold out, packed with hiphop headz, industry bods, and celebrities. Since that now infamous night, the radio invites just exploded. Another appearance with Tim Westwood on Radio1 was an amazing success. Over 10,000 hits a month on their website, and hundreds of messages from the fans in their online guestbook. 2 further videos on Channel U added to the heat. The joints Music & Queen Like No Other both top10 most requested videos in their chart.

April 2005 saw the release of the Anthem Remix video, which was directed by Luke Biggins. The track has been gaining radio support nationally, and the video is on many tv stations, getting spins worldwide.

Paragons future in the music biz will be secured by reaching out to hip hop and rnb fans worldwide. With their unique talents in writing and production the future looks bright.
