Biography
The beginning 1997-1999
The band was created in the dark autumn of 1997 by Lugal-Hellord and Oskar W when their old project "End” went to eternal sleep. First member to be recruited was Patrik Magnusson (ex. drums) and after that Lahmu (vocals) and Martu (bass) joined. The first gig took place in 1998 at a music contest in Lund. boards Pandemonium used David J Länne. The gig gave good response and people became familiar with pandemonium for the very first time. In the spring of 1998 the first demo ("Emotions.”) was recorded and the band started building a name in the scene. In the autumn of 1998 the band recorded their first MCD (".to Apeiron”) and the first keyboard player to become a permanent member of the band was Erik Odsell. The spring followed with several gigs and positive reactions in the press.
The dark & experimental years 2000-2002
In 2002 the band recorded their second MCD ("Twilight Symphony”). The MCD was very experimental, but some elements are evident that are still used in the music of today. Problems occurred when Patrik (drums) and Erik Odsell (keys) left the band due to, among other reasons, a lack of interest. A depressive period followed, but finally a new drummer was found in Enlil and things started to work out again.
The change of shape 2002-2004
In late 2001 Nirah (keyboards) joined the band and pandemonium was a complete band once again. Material was written and in early 2002 the first full length album ("Insomnia”) was recorded in Berno studios. The sound became more Black/Death-metal even if there was some parts that can be compared to In flames and such. The album was released on the America based record label JCM Records, and got very good reactions. It was something for everyone in the metal scene in those times. Pandemonium went on a European tour in December the same year with Prejudice, Emeth and Cadaveric Crematorium. After that rehearsals started for the second full length album ("The Autumn Enigma”). Problems occurred when Pandemonium and JCM Records cancelled their contract due to disagreements between the label and the band. It was decided that the album was to be recorded anyhow. The recording sessions took part in autumn of 2003 and spring of 2004.
The awakening 2004-2005
Even if the band stood without a label several gigs were played with, among others, The Forsaken & Ancient in Germany, as an opening act for Arcturus in Sweden and in December 2005 the band played as an opening act for Susperia on the Swedish part of their "Venting the anger" tour.
The new breed 2006-2008
After a long time without a label Pandemonium signed up with the Canada based label Prodisk/Profusion, and the album was released in the summer of 2006. Some gigs were made in the autumn, but again, stagnation occurred. In May 2007 Oskar (ex Guitar) left the band. In September Enki joined, and after his first gig 15/9-07 he became the new guitarist together with Lugal- Hellord in Pandemonium. A couple of gigs were made during the autumn. Besides that, the band has focused on their work of their 3rd album "whispers", which is soon to be released. This time, Pandemonium choose to walk its own path, since the cooperation with prodisk/profusion was terminated.
The present 2008-2010
The album Whispers was first released as a digital album on December 2008, later to be released on their own label. Some gigs were performed across Europe during late 2008 and 2009 before Enki, Nirah and Martu decided to leave the band due to various reasons.
The current lineup is:
•Lahmu, Lead Vocals
•Lugal-Hellord, Guitars & Vocals
•Enlil, Drums
•Wohlf, Session Guitars
The band is currently producing the songs for the fourth full-length album.
